Behind every success is the team work. Team work is not just working collectively but utilizing the team collectively.

Here is a movie clip of Gladiator, where the game is being organized.

Maximus who I refer as a team lead asks a question before taking up a task. He asks, “Anyone has been in the army?” The question is quiet relevant here and need our attention. The game is deadly and related to fighting, hence the task here is to fight and the team lead has asked for people who have expertise for that particular task, though Maximus himself is an expert in fighting he need a related expertise person to handle the task efficiently, because its relevant knowledge that matters for completing a task but not assigning the work to whom ever we like. Thus an effective leader will always utilize the most suitable candidates to take up the tasks.

It’s not just assigning the work, but we also need coordination of others. He says “ what ever we get out of this gates, the better chance of survival is to work together, do you understand, we stay together we survive’. This sentence shows the importance of team work. They are there fighting for lives, but still believe in working collectively, because working collectively can even save from the death which they are going to face for sure according to the game.

In the video you can see the people in the beginning who are away were being shot and lost their lives. But Maximus keeps on shouting “stay close, stay close”. It’s after sometime that they come to senses and come together and they were saved easily from the attacks.

This particular video gives us the clear idea of leadership and how good leadership can even save us from the death which was for sure in this game, please watch it, I do not promote violence, but there is a professional lesson for us.
