A young woman was picked up in a car outside a night club and raped at gunpoint by five men as they drove around the Maidan after midnight on February 5. They shoved a pistol into her mouth and punched and kicked her, saying "Chillaogi to thok denge (We will shoot you if you scream)." She was dumped at Exide crossing about 90 minutes later, torn, bloodied and battered.

If this sends a chill down your spine, here's worse - the police ignored her complaints when she mustered courage to report the incident two days later and even mocked her for going to a night club. Two officers allegedly passed sleazy remarks at her at Park Street police station, when she was summoned for a
forensic examination on February 14. And, it was a male police officer who 'escorted' her to the test, rather than a policewoman.

The victim is still determined to fight back and trawled Facebook to get the names and photographs of the suspects, but the police brushed it off. They did not even ask her for the clothes she wore on the night of the incident. TOI is withholding the pictures of the three suspects she claims to have identified.

Jabir, quite disturbing! Many of them are emulating reel life in real life. Men in uniform have long forgotten their role. Most of the occasion, they become even more dangerous to go anywhere closer for remedy. Politicians will brush this aside, claiming this to be another stray incident, and even will provide advice not to venture out in the night hours. The State ruled by a Woman Chief Minister should take cognizance of the newspaper report to immediately pass an order to nab the culprits and render justice to the affected girl.

In this case what actually happened is completely unknown to all other people.
I suppose that Girl was, by herself invited those guys and got herself satisfied by all of then one by one and when it came to ask for her money, she may have been paid the demanded amount and somehow she may be demanding more and those guys asked for one more round of activity. There she agreed and this is where that girl took the advantage of demanding of something rough act. So the case is clear to me.

The girl is the main culprit and a waste girl and we must not forget that girls are loosing their respect and values for money of fame these days.

Rajendraji I think it is total unbecoming of anybody to pronounce that since a lady was drinking late in a pub, she should be lynched. It is just not acceptable. Accepting her habits is your personal choice. I am sure overwhelming women find the company men who smoke or drink, uncomfortable. So be it. Their personal choice.

But to deny her right to safety is another. I accept that the security of women on the streets at night is a matter of concern. And I am for practical solutions for the same. But to condone the behavior of the cops by citing her taste for the late night beer is nonsensical.

Why all are against the govt. of uniformed guys, why can't you see that the time she got out of a night club and the place, night club will never be a lonely place to until its the time of midnight, when she dared to come out of night club she need to be taken precassions, yes i do agree that police has not made close of the night club as per stipulated time. I only feel that this case got raised becoz she given complaint so many cases are there which are even got noticed by any one. I believe when you are taking a risk knowings what ever happens you have to bare, don't blame other for your own risk, our life, our things, our decision, but blaming others for our own mistake sorry i don't agree.

Terrible and nauseating. The police men must be immediately transferred to a distant place and a thorough investigation conducted within a stipulated time-frame.

This news is out today in the news papers. I appreciate Mr. Jabir for his swiftness in bringing the matter to this forum.

The Police would have swung into action to apprehend the culprits first instead of heckling at a victim lady for venturing out in the late night. They have no authority to take a class without making their legitimate efforts. This tendency of Indian Police gaining them criticism time and again.

Cinemas and TV serials are spoiling the Indian culture. For them it is a business. We should have our own judging capacities. Middle class and upper class women are not able to appreciate the difference between the reel life and real life.

In this specific case, I believe the lady herself given an opportunity for the culprits. The behaviour of police is condemnable.
