A mellifluous dialogue between a common man and the Cosmic Divine Being, Srimad Bhagavad Gita incorporated in the Mahabharata, an Indian epic poem, encapsulates the essence of all the ancient Vedas. Written some 5000 years ago by sage Vyasa, Srimad Bhagavad Gita is considered a Revelation consisting of the quintessence of cosmic law in the eternal words of the Divine Being himself.

Whatever happened, it happened for good.
Whatever is happening, is happening for good.
Whatever that will happen, it will be for good.
What have you lost for which you cry?
What did you bring with you, which you have lost?
What did you produce, which has destroyed?
You did not bring anything when you were born.
Whatever you have, you have received from Him.
Whatever you will give, you will give to Him.
You came empty handed and

you will go the same way.

Whatever is yours today was somebody else’s yesterday and  will be somebody else’s tomorrow.

Change is the law of the universe.

The Creator speaks to us through the prophets and via the sacred scriptures of the Bhagavad Gita, the Torah, the Christian Bible, the Koran and a myriad number of other ancient and even contemporary traditional belief systems. And His words are essentially the same though His voice and language differ. Yet Man still does not comprehend His meaning, much less heed His words. We are so focused on accumulating material wealth and achieving temporal fame that we do not see the riches and glory that are already ours...within. As spoken by Rumi, “There is a basket of fresh bread on your head, and yet you go door to door asking for crusts. Knock on your own inner door. No other. Sloshing knee-deep in fresh river water, yet you keep wanting a drink from other people’s water bags. Water is everywhere around you, but you see only the barriers that keep you from water.” What pitiful fools we are. Perhaps such foolishness...once recognized...will help us each to not take ourselves so seriously.
