The Five E’s Of Marketing
Get better at forecasting the variables of a changing marketplace, connect with your customer – today’s consumer – to understand where that customer is going and why, deconstruct some marketing myths of the past and replace them with solid new branding and sales paradigms that focus on the five E’s of marketing.
- The first E is Educate, and it’s all about communicating to everyone who needs to know about your product, your brand, or your service. Thus, it’s what you have to do for the consumer, for your distributors, and for your product team internally.
- The second E is Explore, which is what you have to do to learn who your customers are, why they buy what they buy, why they want what they want, and how you can tap into that behavior and prosper while doing it.
- The third E is Elevate, and that is what most consumers want to do to their lifestyle and what your product can probably can help them accomplish, if only they knew about it.
- The fourth E is Entertain, and that’s what helps consumers enjoy learning about your product, shopping in your store, or using your service department.
- The final E is Evaluate, and that’s what you have to do on an ongoing basis: evaluate how you are doing with the four other E’s and then act on what you find.
Consumers today are more interested in brands from companies that understand their complex lifestyles. It is not enough to market your brand to a specifically targeted consumer. The interests and needs of consumers, along with their distractions, have grown at huge rates, and your brand must measure up to all these elements to succeed.
Wonderful insight Viktor. This also goes so well with the e-commerce industry where it is really so difficult to maintain your identity and build your brand.
