Many of us are devoted to Rabindranath Thakur (Tagore), Many of us are overwhelmed with his creation. But how many of us have realized his philosophy – his spiritual view-point?

Most of love songs of RabindraNath is offered in devotion to God. RabindraNath's God is universal existence, like the God of 'MahaDharma' --the religion of humanity.

Thanks Mr. Bhattacharya for your rebuttal. My point is very simple. We have the wherewithal to know and learn about this Great Poet the country has every produced. My point of concern is how do you make his work available to the Blind Persons, many of whom are very much interested in reading his work. I request the newly formed West Bengal Government to publish his works and others in Braille for the benefit of Blind People!

Murlidharan, his works are huge and spread over a period of 75 years(he started writing when he was hardly 6 years old,may be still less). Please make some Google search, the materials are aplenty.
Nobel Prize was not given to him on the basis of any single book GEETANJALI".When the recommendations of a number of renowned British poets on him reached Stockholm,Swedish Govt searched for a local scholar who knew Bengali. After researching his works for some time in Calcutta, the gentleman wrote back"can you give me couple of years?I cannot measure his works in numbers and comments in days , I need years. Can you wait that long?"

I am not an exponent of the huge literary works Kabiguru has produced.Whatever little opportunity I've got to taste some of his literary works during my school studies, I can only say he is one of the top-ranked philosophers this country has ever produced.Only handicap I can say that all such golden words are written in the form of numerous Bengali poetries and hence most Indians(with no knowledge of the language) are deprived of the works.
In todays scenarios of highly competitive professionalism running after creating self-wealth,how many care for such reading?Only government efforts can help.

Your question is too apt! It would have appealed even more if you have mentioned some of his works published by Shantiniketan, and also which are his contributions attrated Nobel panel! As a commemoration of 150 years of his birth, as a tribute to the true leader, the State Government and the Central Government should make his books and poems available to the blind people in braille. This initiative of Ramakrishna Ashram lacks funding for this initiative. Instead of bringing out stamps (philately), if we promote this initiative to make the blind read his and other literature of great eminence, we would have done some great justice to our birth!

Good question and the answer is none. So also with all our other greats - Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhai Patel ... etc.

O servant, where dost thou seek Me?
Lo! I am beside thee.
I am neither in temple nor in mosque:
I am neither in Kaaba nor in Kailash:
Neither am I in rites and ceremonies,
nor in Yoga and renunciation.
If thou art a true seeker, thou shalt at once see Me:
thou shalt meet Me in a moment of time.
Kabîr says, "O Sadhu! God is the breath of all breath."Philosophy of Tagore is clear from this translation of Kabirs poem done by him ...

Poet, musician, lyricist, novelist, short-fiction and non-fiction writer ,playwright, artist, Rabindra Nath Tagore with his multi-faceted genius was truly a renaissance man who left an indelible imprint on numerous aspects of Bengali culture .A volume like GITANJALI ,the profoundly sensible collection of verses ,won him the Nobel Prize for Literature .

His novels such as GORA and GHARE BAIRE considered to be classics of Bengali literature ,while short stories such as KABULIWALA are familiar to leaders across the nation .His non-fiction works like EUROPE JATIR PATRO and MANUSHER DHARME are steeped in profound wisdom. He was the only composer to have written and set the national anthems of two nations JANA GANA MANA of India and AMAR SHONAR BANGLA of Bangladesh.
Works of Tagore such as - WHERE THE MIND IS WITHOUT FEAR and EKLA CHALO RE have become part of Indian cultural extinction............THANKS FOR THE REFERRAL ABHIJIT SIR..
