This article, I have written for Recruiters, If you follow all 14 points in daily job, You will be definitely be a performer, smart, save time and energy and get results and good name.
1. Requirement re framing Purpose of this is to make requirement details, short, crisp, meaningful by avoiding repetitive words, arranging imp skills , making mandatory and desired skills category and highlighting to apply , including 3-4 lines ( brief and selling point of company) This redrafted JD will be used to share with candidate as well as serve a purpose to make a base of search and screening criteria .
2. make 2 or three type of search strings before jumping over a job site and start experimenting and with no guarantee of high matching resumes. First make a best possible and tight string (which includes all mandatory and desired skill set with domain, education, location and possible co’s or excluding few companies if its required)
Like a. ( SPRING and hibernate and struts) and (Credit card) and ( Vmware )and ( sql) with best engg college and same city or near by cities.
b. (“Java” or “j2ee”) and “developer” and ( SPRING and hibernate and struts) and ( banking or finance or Credit card) and ( Vmware or Unix or Linux) and ( sql or oracle) with best engg college and same city or near by cities.
c. Search 1 and 2 with no best eng college and location
d. Java and spring ( use filter from results, one by one)
3 USE similar resumes option with great choice sometime it helps or it carries you away in ocean of waste of time as well so first complete resumes came out of search and don’t close the resumes , which are close match and once done with first resumes, only than use similar resume.
4. develop a habit of maintaining your live excel sheet, don’t try to remember lot of things. for eg if you have down loaded a 10 resume ( First download best match resumes in your skill folder by location) then start making calls and keep writing status in excel like xyz- droped email, abc – call back at 2 , efg – phone off dropped sms Jkl- will send updated resumes at 2 , lmo – not interested because of location.
5 . Start making a call, Greet ,spell loud, clear your name and co name with purpose and ask , is it a good time as Must rule. You have 2 minutes to catch his interest and develop a connect.
6. you should know 3 top thing abt ur co and JD and Salary range and Role AS He will ask and you cant say , I will let you know or Blah blah.
7, Tell him Role , team size , location and than start with Skills Required and than ask him to tell , how good fit he is for it, How many years of spring he has worked ( duration, project name, his contribution, team size, ) of LAST 2 projects AND What he is looking for in next role . Always take his self rating on skills
8 ask him that can u use the job site resume to submit further or he wants to send updated and if yes than at what time he can or else you will submit the same one.
9. Send him email as must about the job etc
10 Ask him, what’s the best time in a day to line up telephonic interview once resume gets shortlisted and ask any other alternate number and email address for safety.
11 ask him , will you be negotitable on salary part after selection or you have some Min Figure in your mind , which will be non negotiable and any thing above than that figure will do.
12 ask him , will he be fine to come for face to face as well
13. ask him, whats max imp for him- Technology, role, money,, location
14 always write back him a mail in 48 hours either with result or time line to come back and than write him back in that time, It goes long way in developing a relation with candidate.
