“In any relationship, the essence of trust is not in its bind, but in its bond. So hold the hand of the person whom you love rather than expecting them to hold us”

Little girl and her father were crossing a bridge. The father was kind of scared so he asked his little daughter, "Sweetheart, please hold my hand so that you don't fall into the river." The little girl said, "No, Dad. You hold my hand." "What's the difference?" Asked the puzzled father. "There's a big difference," replied the little girl. "If I hold your hand and something happens to me, chances are that I may let your hand go. But if you hold my hand, I know for sure that no matter what happens, you will never let my hand go."

Trust is emotional and logical.

Emotionally, it is where you show your vulnerabilities to people, but believing they will not take advantage of your openness.

Logically, it is where you have assessed the probabilities of gain and loss, calculating expected utility based on hard performance data, and concluded that the person in question will behave in a predictable manner. In practice, trust is a bit of both. I trust you because I have experienced your trustworthiness and because I have faith in human nature.

We feel trust. Emotions associated with trust include companionship, friendship, love, agreement, relaxation, comfort.

Definition 1: Trust means being able to predict what other people will do and what situations will occur. If we can surround ourselves with people we trust, then we can create a safe present and an even better future.

Definition 2: Trust means making an exchange with someone when you do not have full knowledge about them, their intent and the things they are offering to you.

Definition 3: Trust means giving something now with an expectation that it will be repaid, possibly in some unspecified way at some unspecified time in the future.

Definition 4: Trust means enabling other people to take advantage of your vulnerabilities—but expecting that they will not do this.

So learn about trust, how it works and how to build it. If you do it well, other people will give you the earth. If you betray them, they will hunt you to the ends of the earth.

We're never so vulnerable than when we trust someone - but paradoxically, if we cannot trust, neither can we find love or joy. Thanks For Referral, Good Insight !!

Thanks for enabling a public appraisal of Trust. I wonder if you wrote these definitions to see if others could be provoked to a meaningful discussion.

Your first definition is agreeable. The second one relates to a situation when you suffer from lack of knowledge, the third one relates to a situation when you follow a quid pro quo approach and the fourth one is based on a vague belief about the good sense of others. In all these three you do not have the 'assurance' that is the cornerstone of Trust.

Trust is one's full confidence about a given aspect of the other person. I may trust the legal acumen of a lawyer but would not go by his word to get rid of my toothache.

Trust is to be based on solid facts and knowledge; it is not built on expectations and guesses.

Trust is not always an unmixed blessing. It may be good or bad depending on the circumstances and idiosyncrasies of the persons involved.

Trust quickens, softens and makes easier our human relationships.

The only way available to me to earn the trust of other persons is to behave consistently in a trustworthy manner. I try to do it because I want to make all my transactions with others easier.

Thank you for such a nice "topic". Trust is not just a word, but the most significant part of living world. If we dwell a bit dip into our societal nature, it is easily revealed that “trust” is one of the oldest emotional expressions we have shown (apart from “fear). So, undoubtedly trust is the backbone of social formation! And amazingly those creatures, who do not reside on trust, have never created society. Again, depending on the same emotional dimension called trust our present day organizations run their respective businesses.
Trust is behind everything:
1.	It molds our emotional structure.
2.	Back to back it develops many other negative emotions such as mistrust, disbelief etc.
3.	More we trust more we strengthen emotional and physical bondage.

i trust you ,you miss use the trust.i get mad.
i do not trust you.you get mad.better you get mad.

misuse of power is a universal phenomenon.

misuse of trust is another universal phenomenon.

when you do not trust .you are not expecting trust,if you get cheated you were expecting it.but when you get cheated when you were not expecting it.it is a problem which need a lot of pain to adjust.so better do not trust.

and even after all the care you could get to avoid getting cheated,if you still get cheated you found a teacher who tought you something, learn from the event for get the event and learn the lesson.
