This article has some of my views about working in the IT industry today.

I have read many management books and articles; but hell, none of them seem to be written by anyone who seems to be a lay, ordinary guy ! No one seems to talk about basic experiences in the IT workplace....!

Here's my first shot at summarizing my learnings of 4.5 years as a lay IT worker in the Indian IT industry.

Soham!! The article was interesting read. You have some nice and valid points there. But I don't agree with you that knowing senior people is more important than doing your work properly. You are right that relationships are important but at the end of the days senior people will give your more opportunities only if they are convinced that you can deliver on them. Seniors guys are very selfish and for them delivery is more important than anything else as that will show on their performance. what do you say ?
