UID : DAD and MOM of IT projects

UID has gain a huge publicity and brought attention of many global/local IT major players in a short span of time. It's published that all big fishes are showing huge interest in UID project. Looking at the scale of the project and its underlying capabilities to implant roots of revolution for new Hi-tech India, every corporate major wants a pie of share.

Looking at it's potential, infact, I would like to generalize this UID project term as NSS(National Support System), as it would definetly aim to support whole Nation.
I see this, so called NSS, in two avatars.
First, the project UID is a DAD of all IT projects ever executed,at least in India. One can imagine the size of the project by simply comparing population of our great nation, which has highly diversified society,  a series of local language, vividly different culture and needless to say about our goverment administration. Above all, the project is going to start from scratch, though in phases. Looking at the size and ambitions of the project, the UIDAI would be reluctant to take services from the fresh players in the market or on the open community to cater its software requirement.

On the hand, I am confident UIDAI will, at least, seek volunteers for support work, like encouraging people around you to get their UID and bringing them in the center(s), guiding them about their required document (if any), endorsing UID and spreading information about it and more.

I see the project UID as a MOM to many of future projects, as another avatar.
It will revolutionalise Indian IT market, attracting not only domestic IT player but Global players as well and that too upto good extent. Greed of some players is already in place.
This will also give birth to many new ventures as well, by providing indirect business. The only limit would be the creativity in exploring the possible applications of UID.
UID will change the way business is carried out in Indian market.One can foresee easily, all existing players in BFSI and telecommunications would like to integrate their existing BSS (Business Support System) with the UID and its DB, thus, creating huge business in the IT sector.
Goverment sector, especially administration, dealing with demographic services, would see enormous applications of UID providing more smooth administration and expected to minimize corruption at lower levels. Security is another vertical, which will not remain untouched and infact, UID is expected to play a vital role in bringing security UP.
Verdict: UID is going to bring enormous oppurtunities, for large enterprises to small, for veterans in the market to creative and innovative new players.
In short, one has to foresee the oppurtunities that UID is going to bring and prepare itself in advance to materilize them, aggressively.
