Where is Indian Architecture?

South of India has been better able to keep Ancient architecture and values intact as the invasions mostly happened from North. 
The new building coming up in south as well do not reflect to carry the quality elements from our past.

I think ours is good.
Example: our ancient temple towers in southern part of our country, palaces & monuments in northern part of our country, and the existing and ongoing multi-storied buildings & mals. 

THANK YOU RAVINDRA.WE HAVE AVERY PROUD HERITAGE OF VARIOUS PLACES OF INTEREST,TEMPLE BUILT CENTURIES WHEN THERE WERE NO ENGINEERS OR ARCHITECHTS.NOW THAT WE HAVE SO MANY QUALIFIED PERSONS ACROSS THE LENGTH AND BREADTH OF OUR COUNTRY WE CAN GO FORWARD TO A GREATER EXTENT IN BUILDING MORE MARVELS,WITH ALL OUR INHERENT STRENGTHS.

The architecture that was prevelant in india, particularly with reference to houses was very well reasoned for our climate. I remember my grandparent's house which used to stay cool in the hottest summer!.Now-a-days only the wealthy build like that. What was the norm has now become exclusive and fashionable.

Dynasties ruled us and preferred their own styles of architecture. The zealots strictly adhered to their own styles while the moderates created a fusion as token of harmony. 
India today is a free nation yet has absolutely no interest left in either discovering their roots. The minimum we could do was to research and learn a few good things from the past and apply. Or at least ensure the structures being created today are in harmony with culture and thought and  not appear HOSTILE to their surrounding.
