For any company, the most important wireless concern is security.

This will not only keep traffic safe but prevent any wireless LAN (WLAN) from jeopardizing corporate networks, servers and data.

Here are some Technical Tips:

Know your wireless encryption options

Understanding wireless encryption is essential to deploying a secure wireless network.Never built a network with Internet access without a firewall.

Secure WLANs - Understanding the protocols

The 802.11 architecture and the PHY standards for 802.11a, b, and g and performance expectations.

Step-by-Step Guide: Wireless network security testing

All security administrators have 802.11-based wireless in their environments. There is planned wireless connectivity in training rooms, reception areas, and satellite offices as well as unplanned/rogue wireless in the form of Windows laptops running in ad-hoc mode and an access point set up.

Wi-Fi firewalls boost wireless security by blocking airborne attacks

Wi-Fi firewalls, or wireless intrusion prevention systems, are servers that monitor and filter Wi-Fi traffic, blocking unauthorized 802.11 usage and attacks while still in the air.

Testing hotspot security

The risks of using public-access networks, wired and wireless, at a hotel or similar venue, are significantly greater than those experienced in an enterprise setting.

These tips are considered to be as the Best Practices in IT security.

Good Information.

In addition to this

a) Wireless Secured wireless traffic before coming to wired
b) 802.1x authentication & encryption can be set to prevent unauthorize access & capturing
c) Segmentation of users directly from wireless & same can be integrate with wired network.
d) availability of services on based on location requirements
e) Wireless IDS/IPS solution for better security
f) On builded application on wireless can use existing infrastructure of Wi-Fi e.g Hipath Mobile connect, VoIP, Video IP

I also know some tips :These are

1)Disable Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol and use static IP addresses instead. Using DHCP automatically provides an IP address to anyone, authorized or not, attempting to gain access to your wireless network, again making it just that much easier for unauthorized penetration.

2)Move or encrypt the SSID and the Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) key that are typically stored in the Windows registry file. Moving these privileged files makes it more difficult for a hacker to acquire privileged information. This step could either prevent an unauthorized intrusion or delay the intrusion until detection occurs

If we look to the extreme, it should be taken into consideration that almost 60% of population of India uses baseline phones as BSNL and if the govt. goes against the Union decision there could be a therat to the govt. and that would really matter.
