Hello everyone!

I know it has been long time since I came on Toostep but now that I am back I want to talk about a paper I recently found while I was searching about Women achievers.

Though there are few women in this field and there is a dire need to educate women and encourage them to make their way to the top in such fields leaving behind the bottlenecks.

Women Achievers  Please go through this link for the complete paper.

What are your thoughts about women who work for researches in technology field?

Have a great day ahead!

@ very first Gender based debates/topics is not a good idea. This in itself marks the boundaries. Secondly we are seeing the new millennium is already the performing platform for wormen in general.Thirdy no work is done without team sport. There you will find both men and women.

A good write up from Madam D'Souza. There may be some visible gender disparities in other parts of the world, but in India women are at the helm right from the beginning. Those who have taken the things seriously, they got their positions in India. Excelling in their chosen area is a personal interest be it a man and woman. Indian temperament is to settle with what he/she have. A job is a job for livelihood for us. We never try for excelling in the chosen path. Thats the reason why R & D is not much taking up in India.

Ruchi I dont know what question you want to arise through this discussion or in what prospect you want the view. As if you are talking about the imbalance of men, women ratio in research field, then it is that willingness of individual people. no question of men and women arise here. in modern days if any women want to work in the research field or any other field there is hardly a matter of sex. the education institute is increasingly rapidly even in the village. Besides this the small town people are now wants that girls should do best in their carrier. small villages are the exception of this thinking but not all villages. so in this scenario it is where the individuality of person matter. if more and more girl will wish to go in the research field there will be sufficient amount of number can increased.i dont think any other factor such as lack of knowledge or family restriction are worthy in this matter.

I am not sure everyone keeps talking about 'reaching the top' in this country. What does that really mean when all the country is in peril of malnutrition, poverty, lack of healthcare, infant mortality one of the worst in the world, lack of welfare, lots of lopsided economic policies and so goes on. Is that one mean when they talk about reaching the top. I feel it doesn't make any difference if one reach the top or remain at the bottom if this is the outcome that one need to face in the nation on a daily basis.

The article was nicely written. I would like to add Prof. Emma Noether and Sophie Germaine two of the big names in Mathematics, comparable to any who lived in the field. Groniengen University terminated Emmas professorship there when they found she is a jew. Sophie once propounded a new theory and sent it to Gauss for review and mascuraded her name as that of a male thinking that the paper won't be reviewed being written by a woman. Gauss sensing it was written by Sophie adequately followed up and gave her all the credit for the paper and took her into his wings as a some one who need support in her life as mathematician. Emma by the way is endowed with one of the most beautiful theorems in mathematics, where the theorem states 'any visible symmetry in nature has a submerged conservation law backing it up'.

Science and technology has always been attractive options for humanity. But because of the society women could not achieve much. The paper should be an eye opener for those who still doubt women's ability.
