As I am very happy to get enlightened by my fellow intellectuals/professionals/elders/academicians and as I feel that alot can be done through social networking or professional networking sites, I want to expose my feelings on writing articles, initiating discussions etc. in social networking/professional networking sites like Toostep.com. I have little exposure to social or professional networking sites, but, with the little exposure I have got and with the available knowledge about professional networking sites like Toostep.com, I do feel that Toostep.com is one among the best professional networking sites in India. It is user friendly and in all aspects our Toostep.com is so good. All my appreciation to the founders or visionaries of Toostep.com. The site is being maintained well.

Participation of intellectuals/professionals/academicians is very good in Toostep.com. What I feel is that the members can be seen as different kinds based on their status, object of writing and using Toostep.com services. The members are like:

       1. Knowledgeable professionals or academicians who want to get exposed by exposing their knowledge and talent.

       2. Knowledgeable professionals or academicians who want to do some service to the society by airing their views and expressing their views directed towards correcting this society or the people or enlightening members in the course.

       3. People who may not have any core work except concentrating on focus or exposure.

       4. People who wants to enrich themselves with the needed information from experts or concerned professionals.

       5. People who tries to build a network of people from their concerned field or profession.

I came to know that even Barrack Obama had to use social networking or professional networking sites efficiently in his landmark presidential campaign in USA. It is really great if the Toostep.com is used for reasonable and good things like what Barrack Obama did in his campaign. Again, its true that it is very difficult to say as to what is reasonable or what is good. But, the members including me should be very conscious of the objectives of Toostep.com and it can never be misused in one way or other. When it comes to building network, there is nothing wrong whatever may be situation subject to the terms of Toostep.com. But, when it comes to posting articles or initiating debate etc., then, one must be careful and must think about the objectives of the site. There should not be any halfhearted posting or mechanical posting. One must do self introspection while posting an article or initiating debate and then only the objectives of Toostep.com can be achieved and the founders feel satisfied. The misuse of Toostep.com in anyway, will have drastic effect on the growth of our site and its not good for the people of this country or the people in general. I do have my own perceptions about sites like Toostep.com. I do not have good opinion about some sites based the way it is being used, user friendliness and based on reaching the objectives. I like toostep.com so much.

I know that I am a learner and we all be learning irrespective of our status and achievements etc. Dr.Abdul Kalam will also be learning new things and learning is the key to success. I have been writing articles for some time. Based on my experience and with my limited exposure and knowledge, I would like to say something on writing articles as follows:

        1. While writing or posting an article, the reach and the purpose should be concentrated.

        2. Articles on very deep and complicated technical issues can be avoided as it may not service any purpose. However, even the complicated or technical issues can be exposed in a simply understandable way and then complicated technical issues can also be exposed.

        3. Language should be simple as far as possible.

        4. The extracts from somewhere can not be posted without any relevance to the topic.

        5.  While posting articles, the relevant community or communities are to be looked into.

        7.  One must be very careful about selecting the title to the article or posting and the tile should through light on the subject in short, to be plain and attractive.

I am benefited from our Toostep.com as I am being enlightened on various issues and I thought that there is nothing wrong in exposing my mind through Toostep.com.

I request the members to exposure their mind on the things to be concentrated while posting articles etc. in professional networking sites like Toostep.com.

Great way of presentation Mr. Durga Rao.....

It gives direction to many of us on how one should approach TooStep.com.
I am amazed to see such a write up which can really put things in a right perspective on the platform. It will also clear most of the communication gap (issues/fights) among members which are happening. :(

TooStep.com cannot be a best professional networking site only with few members. Let us take initiative & come up with important issues/hot topics for discussion & make everyone to participate. And also help other members on how to use the platform.....

TooStep.com will only be a tool if the actual power: people/members don't respond.

As members, it's our responsibility on taking things forward.

While many of us have a lot more to share, due to paucity of time, we are not able to present our knowledge for the public consumption. A person like Mr. Durga Rao is devoting his available free time for the public cause, which is laudable. This gives us an inspiration to enlighten the mass with whatever little knowledge we have gathered over a period. As you have amply put it, TooStep has given us the required tool and platform to express our views in its true perspectives.

If we can present our views replete with case studies and scenarios, then it would become very relevant for those who would like to enhance their academic pursuit.

Hi Mr. Rao,

I really liked you comments about Too step. I feel the same.
This site is a great platform to discuss various burning topics and to discuss many things related to our life........many are posting their poems which inspire us to move ahead.....many are posting debates on current topics and by which we can upgrade our knowledge.

And moreover we get a chance to meet people from different areas.
And it also gives us the insight of any topic or issue.

Thanks for sharing your feelings with all of us.

Regards,
Rohini.

Dear Mr Rao
I have a pet theory. Upto 45 years, people are receptive and are good listeners. After 45, their capacity to listen will dwindle down and an urge to air their views heighten. At this stage, one needs a sounding board. At least, I have found Toostep to be convenient to air my views. Till views on toostep are not drawn for publishing by other media channels, this will remain only as a sounding board. It does not have potential to become an online journal since the spectrum of subjects discussed is too broad.

Toostep has been enriched by majority of people who are well placed professionally and have a rich pool of knowledge and experience. Wherever possible, one member or the other would caution members who go astray. We would then be back to maintaining a level of professionalism.

On your request to members of Toostep to maintain a sense of decorum and standard in article presentation, I would like to suggest that all articles could remain for two days. Even if one reference is made to a review committee by a toostep member, the review committee should review the article. If it is found offensive (at this stage, "irrelevance" need not be the point of reference), it should be deleted.

We may need to constitute a panel of experts for this purpose. More panels may be necessary depending upon the subject under review. The panel may either be an elected panel or a nominated one.

I believe the promoters of Toostep themselves would have retained this right but they may not be sure as to how often they should exercise this right!

its a good site for knowledge sharing, expressing one's view and correcting them but at times people tend to take the arguments against their's personally and even use words which they would not be using normally like in the case of "sach ka samna", i wish we should avoid such things.
