My friend Rizwan Khan mailed me this interesting draft made by a Pakis journalist.

Here's what is happening in India
:

The two Ambani brothers can buy 100 percent of every company listed on the Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) and would still be left with $30 billion to spare. The four richest Indians can buy up all goods and services produced over a year by 169 million Pakistanis and still be left with $60 billion to spare. The four richest Indians are now richer than the forty richest Chinese.

In November, Bombay Stock Exchange's benchmark Sensex flirted with 20,000 points. As a consequence, Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries became a $100 billion company (the entire KSE is capitalized at $65 billion). Mukesh owns 48 percent of Reliance.

In November, comes Neeta's birthday. Neeta turned forty-four three weeks ago. Look what she got from her husband as her birthday present:

A sixty-million dollar jet with a custom fitted master bedroom, bathroom with mood lighting, a sky bar, entertainment cabins, satellite television, wireless communication and a separate cabin with game consoles. Neeta is Mukesh Ambani's wife, and Mukesh is not India 's richest but the second richest.

Mukesh is now building his new home, Residence Antillia (after a mythical, phantom island somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean ). At a cost of $1 billion this would be the most expensive home on the face of the planet. At 173 meters tall Mukesh's new family residence, for a family of six, will be the equivalent of a 60-storeyed building. The first six floors are reserved for parking. The seventh floor is for car servicing and maintenance. The eighth floor houses a mini-theatre. Then there's a health club, a gym and a swimming pool. Two floors are reserved for Ambani family's guests. Four floors above the guest floors are family floors all with a superb view of the Arabian Sea . On top of everything are three helipads. A staff of 600 is expected to care for the family and their family home.

In 2004, India became the 3rd most attractive foreign direct investment destination. Pakistan wasn't even in the top 25 countries.

In 2004, the United Nations, the representative body of 192 sovereign member states, had requested the Election Commission of India to assist the UN in the holding elections in Al Jumhuriyah al Iraqiyah and Dowlat-e Eslami-ye Afghanestan. Why the Election Commission of India and not the Election Commission of Pakistan? After all, Islamabad is closer to Kabul than is Delhi .

Imagine, 12 percent of all American scientists are of Indian origin; 38 percent of doctors in America are Indian; 36 percent of NASA scientists are Indians; 34 percent of Microsoft employees are Indians; and 28 percent of IBM employees are Indians.

For the record: Sabeer Bhatia created and founded Hotmail... Sun Microsystems was founded by Vinod Khosla. The Intel Pentium processor, that runs 90 percent of all computers, was fathered by Vinod Dham. Rajiv Gupta co-invented Hewlett Packard's E-speak project. Four out often Silicon Valley start-ups are run by Indians. Bollywood produces 800 movies per year and six Indian ladies have won Miss Universe/Miss World titles over the past 10 years.

For the record: Azim Premji, the richest Muslim entrepreneur on the face of the planet, was born in Bombay and now lives in Bangalore.India now has more than three dozen billionaires; Pakistan has none (not a single dollar billionaire) .

The other amazing aspect is the rapid pace at which India is creating wealth. In 2002, Dhirubhai Ambani, Mukesh and Anil Ambani's father, left his two sons a fortune worth $2.8 billion. In 2007, their combined wealth stood at $94 billion. On 29 October 2007, as a result of the stock market rally and the appreciation of the Indian rupee, Mukesh became the richest person in the world, with net worth climbing to US$63.2 billion (Bill Gates, the richest American, stands at around $56 billion). Indians and Pakistanis have the same Y-chromosome haplogroup. We have the same genetic sequence and the same genetic marker (namely: M124).

We have the same DNA molecule, the same DNA sequence. Our culture, our traditions and our cuisine are all the same. We watch the same movies and sing the same songs. What is it that Indians have and we don't?

INDIANS ELECT THEIR LEADERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And also to mention: They think of Construction of own nation, unlike other nations who are just concerned with destruction of others...

Simple answer why the Indian fare better than the Pakis'.. They don't focus on religion and neither do they spend time and money in devising ways to kill their own and everyone else over religion.

Bravo, for the writer to have the courage to write the facts. Indian should also follow the great things from other countries like good work culture so that Indian public sectors can also compete with the companies of Ambani's and Azim Premji's.

The article is more of forlorn commentary on Pakistani affairs rather than appreciation of Indian economy or Indian billionaires.I appreciate the forthright comparisons.
Thanks, Rohit for referral.

Mr.Manish Kumar you have brought out the valid information about India and it gives very encouraging sense of situation in India. Pakistan has to take note of it and to concentrate on its country's development instead of poking its nose in the affairs of others. Thanks Mr.Manish Kumar for sharing the useful information.

Just one observation - While in India enterpreneurs have successfully established business conglomerates keeping pace with the global trends and despite government being their, in Pakistan the military leadership never provided the paltform for economic growth and prosperity.
A very brief and solid answer to the Pakistani journalist's question "What is it that Indians have and we don't?" is:

INDIAN PEOPLE THINK TO DEVELOP THEIR NATION WHILE PAKISTANI LEADERS (not the majority of their people) THINK MERELY TO SERVE THEIR OWN VESTED INTERESTS AND NOT INTERESTED EITHER TO DEVELOP THEIR NATION OR TO DEVELOP THE PEOPLE OF PAKISTAN.

My belief is, if India, Pakistan, & Bangla Desh become the real friends, even the Western countries would not dare to think to disturb the peace in these countries. The terrorist problems would not arise in any of these three countries. The recent Pakistan's tragedy of bomb attack on Pakistani Shrine by Talibans and consequent death of more than 41 people, in tself, is an example how the innocent Pakistan people have been made to pay for the sins of their leaders in encouraging terrorism. They should not think that they would not be hurt by the same thorns, which they have sown for others. They need to be made aware of the Indian proverb "BOYA PEDD BABOOL KA AAM KAHAN SE PAYE," which in fact Pakistani people very well know, as they already have the same culture as readily admitted by the Pakistani journalist, they having been the erstwhile part of undivided India.

But, the question arises, when wisdom would dawn in the minds of the Pakistani politicians/army.

This is shit, in terms of Capitalism, where people are dying in hunger and wretchedness, and these so-called billionaires are reaping the rich harvest of the poor, the nova-rich are getting richer day by day, and the country's politics got tangled in the web of these billionaires, there is no doubt that India is the next destination for the Capitalists..this is sad...

The problem with PAK is well documented. It needs to amend its constitution to make it a true democracy and secular. Will the Imams and army allow it is another question.
PAK should focus on Education, Industrialisation and partnerships with multinationals to grow faster. India should take active part by lending its helping hand in all these fields. Educated and industrialised neighour with good trade relations is any day better than autocratic and army ruled nation.

pakistans 150% of their GDP on defence ,
they bitch behind the backs ,
there only reason of living is a piece of land called KASHMIR
these three qualities , indians don't possess.

I believe that Pakistan should not focus on defence. No one is threatening their existance. In fact, if China and Pakistan don't force India to add to their arsenal, the money saved is phenomenal. Both China and India can build Pakistan, Shrilanka, Nepal, Bangladesh....... fairly well through savings in defence spending.

Pakistan should focus on economy. They need a Manmohan Singh (not the present Prime Minister, but the 1992 Finance Minister). The Pakistan Army has to assume developmental role not regimental role.

They should not get and they should not look for easy money (US, drugs etc.). They should husband their natural resources.

I have always believed that Pakistanis are entrepreneurial. If they focus on right areas, they can come up very well.

This article by By Dr Farrukh Saleem, from Pakistan, is truly astonishing. We, as their Indian cousins have to help them to come out of the cruel hug of their own people. To do this Indians need to provide people of Pakistan more love and affection. Poverty and backwardness is very painful, which our own cousins are facing now. The only solution is LOVE THEM, even though they hate us, still LET US LOVE THEM. One day or the other, sooner or late they will realize the TRUE LOVE from their Indian Brothers and Sisters. I have worked with Many Pakistanis as colleagues and have found them extremely courteous and truly down to earth and good at heart. They adore indian films and also discuss politics.I have seen that they dont think of India as a enemy.

They all know that what is seen is just plain politics played by a very minute percentage of people to further their own interest

We in india incliding Muslims are carried away& or rather systematically brainwashed from childhood by the news and propoganda of pakistan which I feel is far from true from a pakistani comman mans point of view.My perception changed after my interaction with them on day to day basis with literate as well as semi lliterate.like us they also yearn to live and die peacefully.I am not exxagerating anything but placing my facts .

Even in India we have politicians and certain type of peculiar people who organise crimesand kill people in name of religion we too have organisations who are religion oriented(Actually disoriented)fanatics.

I feel before we judge anyone-Person/community/culture or any policy we need to have a close touch/indepth knowledge with the person/community/culture or policy so that our opinion will not be aired with half knowledge which is again dangerous.

Its the same with our culture, westerners find it peculiar, unrealistic and too mild when compared with their own. They also ask us why we states dont get along with each other/people of diff languages look at each other as aliens?when we are all indians.
I will give an example here-We have English people from england who are buddy buddy with lots of Irish people.History has it that there was so much terrorism from irish IRA for many years in england, but they dont think about it twice when thay all work together talk politics(they do have healthy verbal dialogs on The past but end it up with a laugh!!)They know that it was the politics/royal policies etc which was the problem .

I feel that what India needs to focus is not on dollar billionairs but people who can make India a better place for majority of population-Sons of soil farmers ,not thwart them and become billionairs(where will you take it?)

Its interesting to see, that Pakistanies are waking up on better things in life. Whenever, I see Indians discussing Pakistan, I see just the same thing. I wonder, why is Pakistan so special in our media? Pakistan is just another Bangladesh or Nepal or Bhutan. By and large, Indian society has risen in status from the society of these nations. We may still have similar problems in some parts, but the approach, resources and solutions to them are hopeful. Societies of these nations hate India and do little for peace and prosperity. However, we as Indians should understand the difference and believe the facts of this article. To add to it further, India also trash its leaders for incompetency.

Thanks for referring. This only shows how Pakistan's belligerent and negative approach has not helped it in any way. From India's point of view, this should not lead us to complacency. Instead of comparing ourselves with Pakistan, we should compare ourselves with the countries where more efficient and corruption-free administration is available; where all the people are patriotic and unified; where crimes are almost impossible; and where better environment prevails.
