One day, the father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the   Express purpose of showing him how poor people live. They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family. On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, "How was the trip?" "It was great, Dad." "Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked. "Oh yeah," said the son. "So, tell me, what you learned from the trip?" asked the father. The son answered: "I saw that we have one dog and they had four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night. Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon. We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight. We have servants who serve us, but they serve others. We buy our food, but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them." The boy's father was speechless. Then his son added,  "Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are." Isn't perspective a wonderful thing? Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for everything we have, instead of worrying about what we don't have. Appreciate every single thing you have!

Regards,

Abhishek

Nice one. But I wish, next time his father takes him to a rich man's house to show the other side of the coin.We should always thank God for what we have, enjoy our present, but should always aspire for a little more. This is how we can progress in life.

@V.S.arun What does the word 'grazy' mean?

According to the Urban Dictionary the word means:

1. something that is great and crazy.
2. Gay and Crazy
3. What a mad cow is.

In what context did you use that word?

This is a professional community, please avoid using slang words/words who's meaning you do not know.

Abhishek, no hard feelings. You said the negativity was done in error. I fully appreciate that and hope Ahmed accept that. Thanks for the correction.

An inspiring article this one. Makes a nice reading.
This article presents a view point of seeing positive points of every thing. But it does not teach to be self-satisfied. Celebrate what you have and strive for more. That should be the spirit.
From the discussions, it occures that, this article is repeated. But, it is okay. An old movie, if we like, we see it many times, Is n't it? It is just like that.

In this IT world, people are grazy for money earning. In india there are 47% of people live below the poverty line.If each rich man spends graciously (by cutting short their lavish spending in the form of Star hotel meeting and luxery gathering)for the welfare of poor, the poor world would change.Out of sacrifice only we can earn love and true life as our parents have done for us.Good theme.

Let me use my auditing/investigation skills here.

This article was posted 11 months ago under another heading "Who is rich and who is poor? By : veguru vijayakumar babu, General Manager, Sujana Group Of Companies.

Although there is a forum to check to ensure that the article you are posting does not exist before, it is difficult when the heading of the article is not same.

Since Abhishek's article is named" YOU DECIDE WHO IS RICH" while the previous one is named" WHO IS RICH AND WHO IS POOR?" The body of the article is the same.It appears that the author of this story is unknown.

I commented on the previous posting, so I myself would have made this observation.

I have to support Ahmed here, his observation did not called for a thumbs down.

To Abhishek Tiwari: I am wondering about your LOGICAL reason to give my entry a negative vote. I was totally correct and objective.

Every one is rich....and its how we see our self and others....

And Mr. Kujnish Vashisht If the boys father take him to the rich mans house, I think the situation wouldn't change. He will still feel they(he) are poor...
