Over a period of time, some of the things/tools/projects/examples taught in an architecture school have been lost to time. The teaching methods employed nowadays tend to be more of a fulfillment of a particular /institution/university/semester's requirement rather that imbibing the real 'passion' that a field like architecture needs. I propose to compile these off-track, out of the box examples which one remembers from school/college days so that the present and the future batch of students are exposed to this 'interesting' part that triggers their imagination. A few examples: Throwing an egg out of the 2nd storey window - and retaining it! - materials that were allowed to safeguard the egg: the days's newspaper, 1footX1foot gute/gunny bag, about 18 inches of cello-tape, match-box with sticks - etc etc Another example: To design a dining table and a minimum of 6 chairs with 2 plywood sheets of 4'x8' - no glue/adhesives, nails allowed for joinery. Brownie points to be earned for minimising waste. Interestingly, someone came up with 2 dining tables and 8 chairs!
