Roles and responsibility for :
Role: Build/ Release EngineerLocation: Hyderabad Role: Responsible for automating, building, releasing and configuring changes into the dev testing, QA and Staging environment as well as coordinating releasing of approved changes into Production environment. Provide process solutions for build/packaging and promotion, managing source code Responsibility: ·         Perform regular software build and packaging activities and maintain multiple versions of packages in the distribution server.·         Coordinate build activities to ensure each system is documented including all hardware components, OS versions, and application software versions.·         Work closely with core product teams to ensure high quality and timely delivery of builds.·         Perform periodic system audits on all environments to ensure that only controlled versions of software reside all environments.·         Work with Project Manager to incorporate software release activities into master build/packaging plan.·         Design and Develop build/packaging tools for nightly automated builds and reporting.·         Install/setup separate dev testing, QA and staging environments. Develop processes to isolate conflicting activities.·         Identify new tools/technologies that will make the release and SCM process more efficient, repeatable, reliable, and cost effective.·         Good understanding of software configuration management processes.·         Customize source code and bug tracking tool to meet release process requirements·         Manage the source control repository in CVS controlling and monitoring check-ins & create tags.·         Work on SCM in implementing procedures for identification, control, status accounting, and audit for all software inventories against the install base.·         Write functional, technical specs to document build and installation process.
Requirements for Project Lead, Tanla Solutions, Hyderabad :
·         Strong Scripting skills (PERL, Python or PHP).·         Strong Automation skills with respect to Build Processes ·         Hands on experience with respect to Tool building - maintenance & Support.

·         Experience of a configuration management tool such as CVS and proficient in SCM techniques like branching, merging etc.,

·         Experience in implementing new process and training, mentoring teams a big plus.·         Experience in software engineering and SDLC methodologies, release engineering and configuration management using a mainstream SCM Tool. ·         CVS experience would be beneficial.·         Should be self motivated and a good team player.·         Should have good aptitude and attitude.·         Able to work in a diverse team & take initiative·         Able to deliver effectively and in a timely manner·         Able to solve problems ability to shoulder responsibility and take issues to conclusion·         Strong and effective communicator both written and oral.
