Insecurity about their Job - Some bosses prefer to do things alone rather than taking teams help as they are unsecure that someone will provide better solution, and thus they get a sense of insecurity about their post

I came across an article and I believe this knowledge will be of interesting to U … Once upon a time there was one storyteller. After getting tired of telling old fabricated stories, he left his house in search of a real life story. He reached a village and took a cottage for rent. After roaming in the village throughout the month, in search of true story, the storyteller couldn't find one. Disappointed, he decided to stop his search. The next day, while sitting in the cottage, he suddenly heard a voice - a woman was yelling at someone. The voice was coming from the big wall behind his cottage. He tried to hear the conversation; it sounded like the woman was abusing her daughter-in-law. T...

Once, there was a General who wanted to cross a river. He was unsure of the depth of the river, and whether his horse could make it across the river. He looked around for help and saw a little boy nearby. He asked the boy for advice. The boy looked at the size of the General’s horse and paused for a moment. He then confidently told the General that it is safe for the General and his horse to cross the river. The General proceeded to cross the river on his horse. As he approached the middle of the river, he suddenly realized that the river was, in fact, very deep, and he almost drowned. After he recovered from his shock he shouted at the boy and threatened to punish him. The boy was stunned...

Of all the resources utilized during a project, the team working on the project is the most complex to manage. When motivated, your project team can take up Herculean tasks and not break a sweat but when things go wrong there is little saving the ship unless you find a way to change course in time. Motivation is a complex art, while the rule of the thumb is appreciation and reward, the same incentives do not work on all individuals. 1. Always start with yourself ; to motivate others you have to be motivated yourself and should look for positives in all situations. As a role model, if you are energetic and inviting your team will have confidence in you and will follow willingly. 2. Share the...

Performance Appraisals: The Do's and Don'ts Performance appraisals may be time-consuming and something few people enjoy, but they are worth the effort from a legal and a human resources perspective. From a legal perspective, performance appraisals are important because they can help defend an employer against accusations of discrimination or retaliation. Performance appraisals give employees feedback so they understand the motivation behind adverse actions. Therefore, employees are more likely to feel the employer is treating them fairly. From a human resources perspective, performance appraisals are important because they offer a chance to align the employee's work with the organization's ...

Very informative. You are quite right salary issue should not be discussed at the time of the appraisal. It should haapen after the appraisal since that will be the basis for an increase in salary providing it is a good appraisal.

Job Hopper : Some, rather most organizations reject his CV today because he has changed jobs frequently (10 in 14 years). My friend, the ‘job hopper’ (referred here as Mr. JH), does not mind it…. well he does not need to mind it at all. Having worked full-time with 10 employer companies in just 14 years gives Mr. JH the relaxing edge that most of the ‘company loyal’ employees are struggling for today. Today, Mr. JH too is laid off like some other 14-15 year experienced guys – the difference being the latter have just worked in 2-3 organizations in the same number of years. Here are the excerpts of an interview with Mr. JH: Q1: Why have you changed 10 jobs in 14 years? A: To get financially ...

friends i can across an article.... i hope this will be useful one... How to Use Reviews to Motivate Employees and Unleash Performance Are your managers constantly looking up synonyms to write a variation on the same review for the umpteenth employee? Are reviews in your company solely a vehicle for salary increases? Or is the process being changed every 12 months? Yes, performance reviews are as constant as 'death and taxes,' Stephen Parker, senior vice president for BlessingWhite, Inc. told attendees at NY HR Week on April 18. But Parker said that there really is a purpose to the madness--it's to 'unleash performance' and 'fuel employees with motivation.' Unfortunately, in most companie...
