Memristor is latest entry in innovation which could possibly replace RAM in near future. It will make computers more intelligent by tracking data it has retained. It could allow computers to make decisions by understanding past patterns of data it has collected, similar to human brains collecting and understanding a series of events. For example, a memristor circuit could be capable of telling a microwave the heating time for different food types based on the information it has collected over time, said Stanley Williams, senior fellow at HP A memristor circuit requires lower voltage and less time to turn on than  competitive memory  like DRAM and flash, Williams said. 'Because it [uses] less...

Human beings, over a period of time, have been making mistakes studying patterns. Majority of the "goofups" are happening based on past data, frequent occurrences, etc. Now, MEMRISTOR, is going to take over. Its a good innovation for those who...

Hi-Tech Watch A man is at Grand Central Station waiting for his train that leaves at 6 p.m., but he has forgotten his watch. So he looks for someone to ask the time. He spots a guy carrying two suitcases and sporting this fabulous hi-tech watch , so he asks him for the time and the guy replies: Sure, which country? How many countries have you got? All the countries in the world! Wow! That’s a pretty cool watch you’ve got there. That’s nothing, this watch also has a GPS facility, fax, e-mail and can even receive NTSC television channels and display them on its miniature active color pixel LCD screen! Boy, that’s incredible. I wish I had a watch like that one. You wouldn’t consider selling it...

Money has no memory . Experience has. You will never know what the total cost of your education was, but for a lifetime you will recall and relive the memories of schools and colleges. Few years from now, you will forget the amount you paid to settle the hospitalization bill, but will ever cherish having saved your other's life or the life you get to live with the just born. You won't remember the cost of your honeymoon, but to the last breath remember the experiences of the bliss of togetherness. Money has no memory. Experience has.      Good times and bad times, times of prosperity and times of poverty, times when the future looked so secure and times when you didn't know from where the t...

Tips on Pumping Petrol         Only buy or fill up your petorl/diesel vehicles in the early morning when the ground temperature is still cold. The colder the ground the more dense the petrol, when it gets warmer petrol expands, so buying in the afternoon or in the evening... your litre is not exactly a litre.       In the Petroleum business, the specific gravity and the temperature of the petrol, diesel and jet fuel, ethanol and other petroleum products plays an important role.     A 1-degree rise in temperature is a big deal for this business.         When you're filling up do not squeeze the trigger of the nozzle to a fast mode.  If you look you will see that the trigger has 3 stages: low...

Who is Sonia Gandhi: There is officially no Sonia Gandhi. Her real name in passport is neither Gandhi nor Sonia. Its Edvige Antonia Albina Maino. Sonia is a Russian name and not Italian. However, Antonia is an Italian name and her passport is Italian. Though she has married Rajiv Gandhi* she never accepted change of title officially. ( recall the time of turmoil in Indian politics when Sonia Gandhi was trying to be the prime minister, but ultimately Manmohan Singh became her toy) *Rajiv Gandhi: Actually Rajiv Khan being the son of Firoz Khan and Indira Priyadarshani. Gandhi is an assumed title to sentimentally lure indians for their political benefit. They are muslims by religion. Father: ...

A group of frogs were traveling through the woods, and two of them fell into a deep pit. When the other frogs saw how deep the pit was, they told the two frogs that they were as good as dead.  The two frogs ignored the comments and tried to jump up out of the pit with all their might. The other frogs kept telling them to stop, that they were as good as dead. Finally, one of the frogs took heed to what the other frogs were saying and gave up. He fell down and died.  The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Once again, the crowd of frogs yelled at him to stop the pain and just die.  He jumped even harder and finally made it out. When he got out, the other frogs said, 'Did you not...

Did you know the days/dates between 2nd and 14th September in 1752 did NOT exist? This is because this was the year that the calendar changed from the Julian (Julius Caesar) to the Gregorian (Pope Gregory XIII) calendar and because the Julian calendar did not have leap years, they had to cut out dates to make the years correct for the new calendar. So the days went 1, 2, 14, 15, 16....30. But the month still ended with 30. So people worked for 11 days less but got paid for 30 days. This is how paid leave started. England was the last country to adopt this system.     source: www.interestingfacts.org
