Professional summary

After remaining in Hospitality Education for almost 14 years (from April 1995) of 15 years of Industyr relationship, I've felt the importance of the requirements of knowledgable & skilled manpower in the Hospitality Industry. The success of any Hotel depends largely on the skilled manpower that we, the Hospitality Education sector, are producing evey year.

Konar A K's Experience
Current :

Principal, Ramee Academy, Tirupati

Hospitality
India, Tirupati

Working from 2008

Brief summary :

Ramee Group of Hotels has made its presence obvious over the last two decades, mainly in the Middle-east with its hotels in Dubai, Baharin & Oman. It is gradually emerging as one of the major Hotel Groups in India also.

Ramee Academy, Tirupati is their latest venture in the field of Hospitality Education. Earlier, I had worked in smaller Organisations, centred around ONE boss, but without much authority or powers to exercise. Joining the Corporate world of Ramee Group, I really felt what 'authority' is actually - lots of reponsibility. Although there is a lot of responsiblities & busy work schedule, I JUST LOVE THE WORK!!

Previous :

Sr. Lecturer, Food Craft Institute, Ajmer

Hospitality
India, Ajmer

Worked from 1997 to 2008

Brief summary :

Food Craft Institutes (all over India) are the major points for producing & developing skilled manpower for the Hotel Industry. They are administered by State Govts.

Spending almost 12years in FCI - Ajmer, the major part of my career, I had  learnt a lot of thigs - thanks to the 3 Principals I worked under. Although I was into teaching, for more than 1year 9months prior to joining here, FCI gave me the platform to graduate myself as a Hospitality Educator. Just not teaching my students, I learnt to educate them as per the standards of the Industry.

Being there from the inception of the institue, also being one of the founder members, I had the opportunity of first hand experience in Administrative procedures (indirectly) and the knowledge required to run an Organisation.

Previous :

Lecturer, Academy of Management Studies, Kolkata

Hospitality
India, Kolkata

Worked from 1996 to 1996

Brief summary :

It was small Institute, at that time, but the faculty & staff there had immense potential.

Although I was there for a few months only, it was mainly for my Principal & co-workers there that I joined the Food Craft Institute. I learned a lot of things from this Academy which later on was a learning lesson for my career.

Administrator, Institute of Hotel & Catering Management, Haldia (WB)

Hospitality
India, Haldia (WB)

Worked from 1996 to 1996

Brief summary :

I, alongwith some of my co-workers from the earlier company, set up this institute.

Although, this Institute was not a success for me, I understood how tough it was to run a business on of your own. The labour that I had put together here helped me a lot setting up two other Institutes, specially the current one I;m working at.
