WHY NOT?. As a colleague only, formal interaction mechanisms, including shaking hands, display of affection by a simple pat on the pack or a hug are all non-contagious.

Yes!Individual can be accepted as a collegue as it is not an infectious disease.The person will be low on his/her morale so all we can do is understand the psychological needs and lend our ears to listen patiently.
