Such proposals may initially stand good but later maintenance of the road will be neglected since the concessionaire is  benefitted abnormally in this method in the first stage only. I am of the openion that the BOT system is well suited to our...

I think this model will work than the earlier PPP model where public has to pay toll fees, and now a days there are too many places where toll fees is being collected and this is causing inconvinience to the public, to travel on our own roads why...

Very good idea. Tuning the minds right from child hood by educating them on traffic sense and rules  really helps a lot. Some lessons should be allocated to these topics in Social Studies textbooks.

Road safety is based on three 'E's- Engineering, Education and Enforcement. As far as Engineering is concerned, our highway designs are up to the mark as percentage of acidents that occur due to bad roads is only about 5% of the total accidents. The...

Sir, As far as construction is conserned it is OK. But Indian road users are not matured so that they follow the traffic rules properly and give no scope for sounding the horn. Hence some light in this aspect is needed.
SB DIKSHIT  |  Argues in support of  "nil"  |  2 years ago
In western countries blowing  horn is supposed  a faulty driving and some  places it is banned, because there are lesser rather no one without vehicle moves on roads, secondly there are defined lanes for one and other way,and different lanes for...

UNCOMMON ADDITIVES TO BITUMEN FOR ROADS
Pragya Kothari  |  Argues in support of  "CHANGE OF PRESENT CROSS SECTION OF PAVEMENT"  |  2 years ago

Mahender Vaddepally  |  Argues in support of  |  2 years ago
I am afraid that saying present road cross section is an arch will not stand, since as per the construction procedure  required  camber or cross fall  is achieved  gradually starting with a  flat surface for embankment. This gives no scope for...

Dikshit ji the choices given by you are difficult. As an engineer I will always look into both of them...and I doing it. To economise the road construction interms of cost, time and aggregate consumption a composite type of pavement crust has...
