It’s been a long gap since my last post and so, I had this really strong urge to pen something down and get going. Thankfully, that today, I had a very interesting conversation with two of my prospective clients on my favorite topic – Business Developers Startups! (The discussion started with one of my previous blogs – Confessions of a BD to a startup.) To give an insight on their backgrounds, one of them has been working in the Mobile (VAS) domain while the other is an entertainment evangelist! The duo have actually joined hands to come up with a stealth product combining their expertise. Anyway, our discussion was more oriented towards how the three of us had taken steps to grow and get/g...

I think it has nothing to do with a start up or not. It's basically a chemistry between individuals.Whether the organisation is small or big,it is made up of individuals.I do agree that circumstances change individuals.Nevertheless, a BD should...

http://maneishsaagar.wordpress.com The intent of this post is not to convince anyone to visit porn sites literally but is to give an insight on how an industry is utilizing the available resources/technology to grow retain existing business and even hunt new one. 1) Advertise at the right place The link to any porn site will always be within a related content. From other adult sites to porn images, videos, articles you can reach out to tons of such sites with every site displaying a fresh content. At least, they always know where and how to find target customers! 2) Put the most eye-catching content on homepage The homepage will always be full of flesh, celebrities and the 'amateur' models....

I have seen people grabbing an opportunity to work with any and every client that they come across and this is one thing I really hate to do. I have never come to terms with the phrase ‘time is money ‘ and therefore, ‘client is money’ is equally annoying statement for me. So, am I saying that I always screen a client before working with him? Yes, and trust me, it is mandatory. Here are 5 categories of some ‘not-so promising’ clients you would certainly want to avoid: 1) Dictator This client always starts his sentence with ‘Budgets are tight’ or ‘No Money’ and ends with “The bottom line is – I need quality.” Everyone has the tendency to expect more and more by spending less, however; there i...

I say yes. We Indians are infact groomed right form college or before that a job is what'd give them a good life. Everyone therefore seems to get conditioned to that idea. Once settled in an industry and once gotten used to getting a pay end of...

Hi Kriti, Just for the sake of a healthy discussion, let me go with a NO! Being money minded is one thing and then being ambitious and motivated is other. I feel that Indian professionals are instead, driven by competition and are constantly hungry to...

Kriti I beg to disagree with what you trying to prove here and more importantly the words you have used to portray that. I would like to add few points for you to consider just for the sake of healthy discussion 1. "Most of them are focusing on...

First I would like to say that this kind of situation hampers the company's brand image. It requires immediate action otherwise it will ruin company's image. Just to get business and fulfill the target if any sales person enters in other person's...

Basically its a top level management fault. As a sales person each guy is forced to acheive his/her targets and if the system allow them they can offer discounted prices also. It is for the company's top management to think over it.

“When the winds of change blow, some people build walls, others build windmills”. – An old Chinese Proverb. Years ago, I was working for a US Staffing Company where as a Business Developer I was responsible for generating requirements (IT jobs) from the client. Once the requirements were received, a recruiter was assigned to work on it, who would then hunt down a matching profile (read candidate / consultant) and forward him to be interviewed. Rest is obvious…………………… Hang on, this isn’t as easy as it sounds! Typical of staffing, there are always instances when the interviewed consultants, even if selected, refuse to join (everybody does, at times), inviting trouble! This situation, most of ...
