If the boss is female, the female employees would be more comfortable sharing their problems with the boss. The boss in turn would be able to understand the needs of her female employees and get the work done better.

Yes why not? If female boss got promotion then she will act as a boss. if female subordinate is better than male then obviously she would promote her. Same with male bosses. What do you think that if female subordinate is not doing well even then...
