May I take the liberty of adding something. It is not the question of accepting you as a whole. It is the question of accepting others as a whole (with all the negetive and positive qualities) That gives peace of mind, rather inner piece.

Dealing With Frustration - Practical Information You've felt it before, right? Frustration. It's different for everyone, but we have all experienced it - its irritation, that feeling, making you want to pull your hair out, scream out loud, or throw things. It comes up sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly building. Frustration has many forms and varying degrees to it but no matter what degree or form it takes, it is not a positive emotion. As a negative emotion frustration does nothing but cause stress, make it harder to focus and harder to complete tasks. To help remove frustration, it's important for you to know what causes frustration and have a plan for getting rid of it. Causes of...

Why do we wear marks (tilak, pottu and the like) on the forehead? The tilak or pottu invokes a feeling of sanctity in the wearer and others. It is recognized as a religious mark. Its form and colour vary according to one’s caste, religious sect or the form of the Lord worshipped. In earlier times, the four castes (based on varna or colour) - Brahmana, Kshatriya, Vaishya and Sudra - applied marks differently. The brahmin applied a white chandan mark signifying purity, as his profession was of a priestly or academic nature. The kshatriya applied a red kumkum mark signifying valour as he belonged to warrior races. The vaishya wore a yellow kesar or turmeric mark signifying prosperity as he was...

Two young frogs fell into a bucket of milk. Both tried to jump to freedom, but the sides of the bucket were steep and no foundation was to be had on the surface of the liquid. Seeing little chance of escape, the first frog soon despaired and stopped jumping. After a short while he sunk to the bottom of the bucket and drowned. The second frog also saw no likelihood of success, but he never stopped trying. Even though each jump seemed to reach the same inadequate height, he kept on struggling. Eventually, his persistent efforts churned some milk into butter. From the now hardened surface of the milk, he managed to leap out of the bucket. The moral of this little inspiring story: 'Those who d...

I have one story for you which I read today. Life has a way of knocking us down. As humans, we have a propensity for intolerance. And sadly, sometimes people release all that ugliness on the nearest victim. It seems at times, others don’t like it when someone is trying to advance in life. So as an individual we have a choice. We can go with the flow, or allow the opposition to help us rise. My attention was captured this week by the heart of a young NFL player named Danny Woodhead. Now I’m not a follower of sports. And truthfully, I have learned to hang loosely to those who lead. Because we are all human and are bound to disappoint one another at times. However, this young man has some admi...

The 7 C's of Happiness What are the criticalingredients for experiencing genuine happiness ?Here are seven elements of life that I believe are essentialto the attainment of human happiness. I call them the '7 C's in thepursuit of happiness.' One is not more important than any of the others. Compassion In order to evolve into astate of happiness, you must develop your in-born ability to care about life,to value life in all its forms, to engage in loving, kind actions, to cultivatean attitude of what Nobel laureate, Dr. Albert Schweitzer called 'reverencefor life,' (including your own). Contentment Inner calm. Peaceof mind and heart does not mean acceptance of everything that happen...

A man and his fiance were married. It was a large celebration. All of their friends and family came to see the lovely ceremony and to partake of the festivities and celebrations. A wonderful time was had by all. The bride was gorgeous in her white wedding gown and the groom was very dashing in his black tuxedo. Everyone could tell that the love they had for each other was true. A few months later, the wife comes to the husband with a proposal: 'I read in a magazine, a while ago, about how we can strengthen our marriage.' She offered. 'Each of us will write a list of the things that we find a bit annoying with the other person. Then, we can talk about how we can fix them together and make ou...
