I think compared to money character is more important. A good character will help you to earn money.  Being rich and having low morals and questionable tactics is not a good life.... :)

It all depends on work profile. In some cases, practical experience is very much required for decision making. In IT sector, young blood can be hired at senior position but for manufacturing it would be tough to hire at senior position.

Every position has certain requirements by way of skill sets and experience. Not following these will generate risk. So, while it may be attractive to hire young blood with fresh new ideas and knowledge, experience should also be looked in to.
