If a sports man is a good player, he can earn so much in his career that even after getting retired, his 4 generations can enjoy on his money. So why shouldn't one opt for sports as a career when he can make a lot of money out of that?

CIO Magazine Reviews DigitalHatch's IT Sales Techniques! by Paul DiModica, Editor BDM News (05-06-02) Recently, I sat down with Jerry Gregoire, a CIO Magazine editor and the former CIO of Dell Computer and Pepsi-Cola to discuss DigitalHatch's book How To Sell Technology and our IT selling methods. Jerry bought the book over the Internet and called me in February to interview me on the book, its content and our IT selling techniques. Jerry flew into Atlanta, Georgia where our firm is headquartered. Over lunch, we spent a very intriguing and mutually educational three hours discussing the technology sales process. This may have been the first time in recent history, where an IT salesperson an...

Periodically I ll find a post in the blogosphere lamenting the amount of money that enterprise software vendors pour into sales marketing. In most companies, sales marketing expenses are 2-3X those applied to product development. While there are countless articles, books, methodologies and consultants available to increase the efficiency of product development, the cupboard is comparatively bare when it comes to efficiency in sales and marketing. Sales and marketing expenses are, in the abstract economic sense, wasted money. If customers were omniscient they could order whatever they needed on a web site without vendor prompting or encouragement and take vendor sales marketing costs down to ...

Good Podcast. How to develop charisma?? Good resource on developing charisma and apply that to sales. But can charisma really be developed? Charisma is too ingrained in a person's personality and is difficult to develop if you dont have it.

Are you still forecasting sales the way you have been for years? Are your forecasts any more accurate than they ever have been? Does anyone take sales forecasts seriously? Perhaps it s past time to consider a new method for forecasting sales that actually works. Forecasting is done effectively in other parts of business, and that was not always the case. What can you learn about forecasting from other areas of business that will help you create better sales forecasts? Not surprisingly, a lot.

The emergence of rural markets as highly untapped potential emphasizes the need to explore them Surge in the publications on rural marketing is an indicator of the interest in this emerging domain of knowledge. However, studies have been widely fragmented and time has come to consolidate the knowledge that has evolved over the past years. Consumer culture, spurred by rapid economic growth, is spreading to the vast rural areas where two-thirds of India's 1.1 billion people still live. The trend is creating new opportunities not just for big business, which has long focused on the urban middle class, but also for some of India's poorest citizens. Some impulses to go RURAL: Large Population Th...
