Past Employment Worked as as projects delivery head for the Online retail segment of ANM soft Technologies Pvt Ltd from Sept 2008 to Apr 2010 where I was leading a team of 30 people and handling 5 medium to large size projects in the e-commerce domain with clients like homeshop18.com, India times, ferns and petals , Wespro, nirlep and mobilestore. The technology used here was Java on Linux with Mysql as the RDBMS. My primary responsibilities included ensuring Uptime of all the sites and meeting the timelines on the deliverables to the clients and to guide the development of ANMs flagship ecommerce product Octashop. Octashop is a complete suite of all modules one would need to run an E-commerce portal. The major modules of Octashop are OMS - or Order Management System is an engine where the entire life cycle of an order is maintained with all its statuses. It also has a robust reporting engine and a merchant panel for the various vendors. Staging - Creation of categories/catalogues addition/deletion of products/offers/schemes and all other features one can think of for running an E-commerce portal and available via the staging application via UIs. One can also term this application as a UI to the Database. CRM - Octashop consists of a CRM application tailor made to suit the needs of an Ecommerce portal. It is very different from the typical CRM application. It has UIs to take Leads , has a complaint tracking system, and also an order booking system with both Offline and Online payment modes ( via IVR integration ). Front End - This of course is the main Portal which displays the various products in there respective categories and catalogues. It also has a shopping cart with integration to various payment modes as per client requirements. Database - The RDBMS used in Octashop is Mysql. The database schema has been made such that it incorporates virtually every need an Ecommerce portal might have in the future and thus we have tried to make it future proof. Apart from taking a lead in the product development the other major projects that I undertook are: IMall - a TV shopping portal. The major challenges here were to get the web 2.0 functionalities to work on the primitive TV browser. Commercial value of this project was 70 Lakh ( INR ) and the project was delivered within 3 months. HomeShop18 - In this project my main responsibilities were Development and maintenance of the website and CRM application with daily average business of 1Crore ( INR ). HS18 is at present the most successful E-Commerce portal in India and it was a great challenge to ensure uptime for all the applications. Ferns-n-Petals - fnp.in is one of the leading flowers and gifts shopping portal of India. In here I was responsible for migrating the site to Octashop 2.0 while ensuring that the old site keeps running. Other projects that were running underme included Mobilestore ( themobilestore.in ), Wespro Digital ( wesprodigital.com), Nirlep(www.nirlep.in), Bizxchange (www.bizxchange.in), Timesascent ( itsmyascent.com ),Indiatimes Shopping. I have also been involved in performance improvement projects for Homeshop, Indiatimes , bizxchange, Naaptol and Times ascent. All these tasks were mission critical and were successfully carried out under High stress conditions. With my vast experience in Linux , I have also been instrumental in setting up various in office systems like SVN, Bugzilla and have successfully lead the Systems team in maintaining all ANM Client Servers outside of my primary Ecommerce domain also. This knowledge has also lead ANM to start Hosting services for there clients under my supervison. Previous Employment worked for 8 years in Retort Software Pvt Ltd with its office situated at 403 Sentinel Hirananani Powai Mumbai 76 from 99 to July 2007. During this period I served as A software programmer with linux/C/Php/databases forming the crux of the work. Alice ( Advanced Linux Internet Communications Environment ) is the flag ship product of Retort, and I have had the opportunity to be involved in its development right from the beginning. Basic designing,choosing the correct software tool,market analysis for feature additions and modifications were a few of the key areas of my work. Customer Support Head - Alice caters to all the networking and communications needs of a corporate including Mailserver,Proxy server, router, firewall, DNS,DHCP,VPN,RAS,SMS gateway etc. Thus once it is deployed in any organization it goes on to become the backbone of the entire communications. Hence even a few minutes of downtime is unacceptable to the customer. As support inchage I was responsible for the upkeep of all the Alices ( 100 + ) across India and a few outside India. Attending to customer queries regarding there network designs for optimum use of alice and other day-to-day issues were the major part of my duties. As I was always communicating with Alice customers I could help in the development of several new features in Alice depending on customer feedbacks and suggestions thus enhancing my role as a developer.
