Happy New Year everyone! Wish all of you a prosperous 2011. While I was researching to find a topic for our next blog post, I interacted with many corporate recruitment experts. I asked all of them one question - 'What key issues related to recruitment strategies and/or processes did your organization face, in 2010?'. I received varied responses, but a strikingly common topic that came up while discussing with each of these experts was -  'using social media in recruitment'. Social media is the latest buzzword that has also captured the minds of experts in the recruitment industry. I am not going to discuss the various social media tools available. There are many many tools/sites out there ...

It seems that Surmeet is new to TooStep and has just posted junk to test TooSteps features. Such content should be removed by TooStep, immediately, if they are serious about the quality of content on this website.  Regards, Om Deshpande

i think u.s senator is absolutely wrong at his perception or in his words.. lets just be practical for a while... one day our house maid bunked her duty for a foreign trip with her boyfriend.. and this issue had come to your notice after a week...

What the US senator has said is not false. It is just sounding harsh because he has used some very strong words. But, everyone knows that the point that he is making is true. The 'outsourcing' companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys etc. are perceived as...

I don't think so he was right in saying all the outsourcing companies are chop-shops.  If Infosys and other Indian companies are Chop shops, then US and its companies are the biggest buyers on this planet for the products and services offered by...

The most "innovative" thing that  indians have done in the past 2 -3 decades and mastered is the offshore development model. This has become all pervasive. Even if india is into product development outsourcing it is still treated as a outsourced...

Not in the near future. Believe me, we do have the capability, but, because we are a young nation; only about 60 years old; we do not yet have a sophisticated business, economic, social and cultural eco-system in place, which supports innovation. We...

Facebook will take a very very long time to get the huge network like google. The databases google is having is enormous and facebook will not be able to compete it easily.
Om Deshpande  |  Argues in support of  |  2 years ago
I think you have got it slightly wrong Sumitra, when you say that Facebook "Questions" is trying to compete with search engines. It's not exactly a search engine. FB "Questions" an application which gives you an opportunity to ask a question, which...
Satwinder Singh  |  Argues in support of  "Yes"  |  2 years ago
Why not..? If facebook is the best social media, google is the best apps company. And any point of time they can shake hands to win over Microsoft..! So competition matters. Facebook alone can't complete in market. So all who are microsoft...

Insufficient working capital is one of the main reasons for start up failures. Before starting up it is always wise to plan working capital for at least 2 years. However good the business idea is, there will always be ups and downs in cash flow...

Can't argue with you on that one. Mindset has to change. HR professionals all over the world are faced with this question. My organization has done a lot of research on this so I can go on and on, but I will try to compact my post as much as possible...
