Long before it was made open source, the SYMBIAN platform (Nokia Smartphone OS) had a well earned reputation for being hard to program. Qt finally addresses this need which is going to do the same or more to the MeeGo platform that java did to...
Certainly, MeeGo will be covering Handset, Netbooks, In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) type of devices. Not only this, its going to work on Intel and ARM platforms...Windows Phone 7 is somewhere no where in this race...
First come first serve is not what will decide the fight back...Yes it's a fight back kind of thing but they are launching themselves in a altogether different fashion...they are coming with flavours for handhelds, notebooks/tabs , in-vehicle...
Surely MeeGo is the other player in 2011. It will be a natural progression from Symbian to MeeGo for most of the Nokia development community. As far as iPhones are concerned they are far more stylish than anything else...they have their own user base...
