As quoted by one of the editors of Times-“ A joke doing the rounds says that Kalmadi tried, in despair, to hang himself from a ceiling fan but the ceiling collapsed. We can do nothing right. Corruption and inefficiency have come to symbolise the organisation of the Commonwealth Games, in the popular imagination. And people are outraged, disgusted. Rightly so. But what use is this outrage if it does not lead on to systemic change in how we do things in this country? It is easy to hang one Kalmadi, figuratively speaking, but not easy to fix what is wrong with the system. This is my interpretation : “Ram, Ravan, dou khade, kake lagu paye, balihari guru, govind diyo bataein” And the Guru speaks...

Allowing foreign universities to set up their campuses in India will help the country save up to $7.5 billion (about Rs 34,500 crore) foreign exchange annually that students spend on studying abroad. It will not only dramatically enhance profile of higher education in India but help it save outflow of about $7.5 billion of foreign exchange per annum as large number of Indian students go abroad to receive higher education.. It is seen that students going abroad, cost the country a foreign exchange outflow of $10 billion annually and foreign universities campuses in India could prevent at least three-fourth of students from leaving the country for higher education. The Union Cabinet approved ...
