Since fossil fuels are essentially finite in total availability over the long haul, new sources of creating electricity will have to be found or existing alternative methods made profitable. In limited quantity we see some geo-thermal production and limited quantities of wind turbines. How can we maintain the present levels.

India must attack on muliple fronts to fight with power shortage & limited coal resources. 1) solar power - R&D to bring down it's cost 2) Wind energy 3) Thorium based nuclear reactors as we may not get continued supply of Urenium from NSG

we can replace fossiels  by using or commercializes solar power, which is uninterrupted. Solar power is 100% clean and pollution free and parallel utilize  of hydro power because hydro power is economical than other technologies whereas nuclear power is more costly.

We need commercially viable water-disintegration technology that splits water into oxygen and hydrogen at the expense of lesser power than it produces when the same hydrogen is burnt in that oxygen. This will make the process self-sustaining and finally solve the energy problem as alternate to solar power.

We need to invest more in nuclear both in licensing new fission reactors that are basically safe and in applying more research to Thermonuclear fusion reactors which have more than broken the break even level and are now looking like a firm possibility for the medium term. These will be needed if ever we pursue a Hydrogen economy. In fact the only way to produce clean Hydrogen without further polluting the biosphere is nuclear.

Thanks Mr. Shaju for the post....thanks for sharing the article.....
S olar energy is the most readily available source of energy. It does not belong to anybody and is, therefore, free. It is also the most important of the non-conventional sources of energy because it is non-polluting and, therefore, helps in...
