Are we doing Reference Check for Most of the positions, or is it concentrated only for Very Senior Roles?

What are the dividents we are gaining from this exercise?

You are right most of the organisations do reference check for only senior officials.. But i think it is equally important to do check for even middle and junior level, where the risk of changing the job is very frequent, risk of sharing important info are more. So it is important to do checks for all level for smooth running of any organisation.

Dear Arti i agree with your point that we need to do reference checks for the middle and lower level management also because as you said that there is more chance of some kind of fraud happening at those positions because of money. Moreover those employees will also know that they are being watched continuosly and then there is more probability that they will do their work properly. so yes an eye should be kept on all to create a transparent and healthy atmosphere.

The answer depends on the company’s policy.
Ideally, all applicants are supposed to be properly screened and their employment records are to be thoroughly checked and verified.
Due to some business constraints, the above procedures may be applied only on senior management team. However, that practice might pose a potential risk.

Meera a very good question to ask.I would say that the companies are only focussed on tracking the people on top positions, they don't take the pains to check if the employees at other positions are doing their work properly or not.because those positions are very important as all the manual work is done by those people so if companies don't held them accountable for their work then it will be difficult to run an organisation smoothly.
