Anybody if working on Asterisk phone/IVR/ACD/CTI systems, please let me know about its future....An open source like Asterisk is in demand because it's almost infinitely customizable. In the telecoms business the advantage of customization is at a premium.

Asterisk is an OpenSource Voice and PBX platform. It has a great future. Its is highly configurable and has the power to do anything. There are many asterisk clones like trixbox that can be used much easily than the Vanilla asterisk. But controlling asterisk using the CLI is the skill that should be developed to conquer the Asterisk platform. There are great resources for learning about asterisk like wikis, ebooks and video materials.
