In my view Mutual Fund is the best way to invest through SIP mode in both -Bull phase & Bear phase.
Mutual Funds are the best option to multiply your wealth. You can go for Mutual fund with a minimum of Rs. 500. SIP (Systematic Investment Plan) gives you an opportunity to invest in Mutual Funds with a minimum monthly investment. It allows you to withdraw the money at any time; this helps you in ensuring the liquidity of your money.
Mutual Funds provide you the facility to diversify your portfolio. Diversification is an effective technique to minimise your risk. If you are investing directly in stock market, you have to buy different stocks of companies from different sectors to diversify your portfolio. The beauty of a mutual fund is that you can buy a mutual fund and has instant access to a hundreds of individual stocks or bonds. Otherwise, in order to diversify your portfolio, you might have to buy individual securities, which exposes you to more potential volatility with very high risk.
Following are the reasons why one should buy Mutual Fund-
1.    Enjoy the advantage of Diversification
2.    Gain the service of a professionally qualified Fund Manager
3.    Option to choose from a pool of funds
4.    Minimum initial investment
5.    SIP facility
6.    Automatic Reinvestment facility
7.    Greater Transparency
8.    High Liquidity
9.    Audited Track Records

Its very difficult to answer…lots of factor which hv to keep in mind before investing any where but if any one ask me that where I invest my money then my answer always Mutul Fund is first choice for me….there r really some specific reason behind it like 1. No time commitment with this investment….go with open ended plan so u can use ur money in any type of emergency without any hassle…. 2. All type of exposure like equity, debt n combination of both so suitable for all age group investor. 3. Charge point of view it very low…. 4. If u r looking for tax saving then goes with ELSS with 3 Yrs Commitments… 5. Now Gold ETF also available So I think MF is the best instrument for investment……..

You cannot classify a single product as a best purpose for investment. It depends upon factors like Income, Purpose of Investment, Risk taking ability and most important your age. If you are in lower band of your age like below 35 years, 60% of amount should be in equity related products. As you mature and with you your demands and needs also changes, you should change your investment style. But one should have an LIC traditional plan in his/her life as this not only solves the purpose of investment but also safeguard your family from any unforseen situation in future.
