The challenges that confront Indian Industry in the current financial situation are more complex in nature. Especially managing the Supply chain will be more critical, since customer are very particular in Cycle time (production to sales) reduction, Information availability, Improved cash flow, Savings in inventory carrying costs, Reduction in communication costs, Enterprise integration and Faster response to market changes.
The Metal Fabrication Industry in India will be facing complex situations, when there is a change in customer expectation and requirements, since Metal fabrication is a value added process that involves the construction of machines and structures from various raw materials like Plate metal, Formed and expanded metal, Sectional metals, Welding wire, Hardware, Castings, Fittings, etc.
So what will be the best practices in SCM for these fabrication industries to be successful in this kind of economic situation?
