BPM can be defined a set of activities that organizations perform to either optimize their business processes or adapt them. If an organization is going for change management it certainly helps to have BPM in process. As it identifies each and every step of a transaction being performed. Once it is captured the same can be analyzed and if required improvisation can be done. Once the steps for performing a transaction are modified then it helps in change management and also in adopting new business goals and delivers the same more effectively with minimum amount of resources.
Business Process Management can be a key business driver for change management.
1) As part of building the case for urgent and necessary change BPM should be an invaluable source of performance gap and therefore benefit identification for the change business case.
2) The second driver results from the change experience of internal recruits as they become skilled in BPM and as a result of their focus on the desired outcomes in mapping processes.
3) The third is the experience of the organisation in working with the BPM team, in that they can rely on the change management capabilities of the change team because they can see delivery from the BPM exercise.
