A major part of the
Hotel Business is customers, why are they not given guideline to use the resources
optimally? Can’t they help in making the Hotel more efficient?
Yes, customers can help in improving the overall efficiency of the hotel if they are tactfully and properly instructed. With the customers’ ever-increasing level of awareness, they are more inclined to cooperate in optimally using available resources.
I would also like to add that efficiency in terms of
resources can be achieved by contribution from the customer’s side but what
about efficiency in management? What about the improper management practices?
According to me Hotels should first make their management strong enough to execute
the plan of making the hotel more efficient.
Yes, I do agree to what Sushil said but this will save very small amount of resource. Maximum waste in a Hotel is in the operation department because of HVAC. This should be taken care of.
This is a very good idea, if customers take the initiative to use only what is required and not waste water, food and electricity, some little headache of the Hotelier will reduce. May be Hoteliers don’t prefer using this option because they feel that their customers will take it in the negative sense, after all they are paying money for the service. But today when people are educated, this can be implemented and there is a high chance that people will accept it.
