It is a good career option. Job profile varies from handling import / export shipments, negotiating with airlines/shipping lines for freight, tracking shipment till it reaches destination, providing documentation, co-ordinating for despatch from plant etc. including customs clearance. Domestic logistics means dealing with transporters, deciding which route, negotiating yearly contract rates etc. Logistics could also be managing CFA's clearing & forwarding agents, monitoring/replenishing stocks etc.
