Do you call this most successful diversification?
Movie stars entered into politics, sports, advertising, TV, educational institutes like IIM & IIT, and into events and shows. Can we call this a well planned diversification or it just happened?
First of all, i will not agree with your question. Cocept of cheer leader is european concept and it was used in 20-20 world cup in south africa. We did use the same concept in IPL.
Now we should think about the politics. We already have the cheer leaders in politics but it is not in the form you have seen in 20-20. Cheer leaders are used in 20-20 to have more fun, entertainment of public. In politics, specially in indian politics, we have many leaders who will not keep inform the public but they will entertain public in there speeches by blaming on others, playing different tricks, moving in rickshaw etc.
But 20-20 cheer leadres will not work in indian politics, at least publicly...
I do not want to comment too much on Indian politics...however since you referred the question to me I will attempt to answer it .
You cannot compare the game of cricket with politics...even though from time to time you will hear the slang 'politics is a dirty game'. Cheer leaders to entertain the crowd in cricket has become part of the game globally. In India it may not be accepted totally but the rest of the world has no problem with it.
Politics on the other hand is another ball game where I do not see cheer leaders fit in. Any cheering at a poltical campaign will have to be done by the supporters themselves. If you are asking if cheer leaders will attract more supporters then that is another question. However, I do not see any politician using tax payers money to hire cheer leaders not in India or any other country.
Yes Mehernath is right here, and Cheer leaders are there to entertain people, and they have nothing to do with politics, and most of the Filmstars who are campaigning they are seen in white or khadi and nothing else, one should maintain the sanctity in politics and should not go for anything like cheerleaders in politics...
Politics breeds show business of a different kind! Here the white collared custodians emotionally wreck the nation by using history and using histrionics that would make the nation go gaga over the politicinas understanding of our heritage and culture. Politicians therefore breed MORAL POLICE! So getting cheer leading directly into politics and using them to win campaigns is out of question but what happens behind closed doors is something we should not even talk about.
Cheer leading is an art in the US & Europe. High School ladies vie to be a cheer leader and do the routines for the spectators and generally amuse all present during a match. IPL has just taken a small leaf out of that and is using cheer leaders to get some relief to the otherwise mundane routine of watching cricket!
Cheer leaders are brought in by internation T20 tournament and not by cine stars, if we look carefully at the current IPL teams and their owners we know the reason what's going on there, but it's not possible to bring in the cheer leaders in politics. In India politics is still supposed to have some so called ethics and cheer leader's entry will always be protested, look at those cine stars they still wear whites when it comes to campaining or meetings, you won't find them in jeans, suits and desinger jackets.
