Hi this is Vishal Goel from Hyd, I ll like to share my startup story... (Temporarily website is under re-construction)
A fine morning of OUR summer internship job, we started planning to give jobs in the future, and planned to create ourselves as a branded product, and started a small unique business naming it with our names as “Vismodeep” (Vishal, Mohit & Deepak). People sell for profits & We sell profits itself, We Sell Profits is our tag line.
Gone those days when big business tycoons use to tell that they have started their business just by investing some hundreds of rupees, but now WE proudly say that we have invested OUR precious ideas with a combination of zero rupees.
We have started by creating a free web site www.vismodeep.co.nr and as days where moving we where adding some weight to our pocket and then it was a time to spend that weight (I mean re-invest) and we took a paid domain www.vismodeep.com with that small profits amount.
What we do, we buy goods at a cheaper price from local market and sell them at a bit lower price then there normal market price & it worked people started accepting it and we went on extending our product line and width abundantly that too without money HOW? We use to get their price list and photos and upload them on our website and get them when ever demanded by the customer. & now we are into more then 15 categories and also earned a lot of sustainability to continue to create competition in the competitive market and gained lots of knowledge about external world.
“Where there is a will there no one can stop” right from giving a name, designing website, managing inventories, maintaining accounts & CRM activities, to what not. Each and every activity is being done by us only no out sourcing of work or hiring people.
Some of the Promotional Strategies we used -
- Promoting through making Vismodeep community on social network websites and sending invitation to 100’s of friends, so that they and their friends become member and gain visibility. (Word of Mouth Marketing)
- Sponsoring gifts from Vismodeep in college functions/parties to hit the right target market. (Ambush marketing)
- Sending E-catalog to 1000’s of people thorough our email data base. (Database marketing)
- Promoting free online games, where they can win discount coupons.
- Wearing Vismodeep logo and website address T-shirt on Saturday’s.
- Offering a discount product with a current purchased product or for next purchase. (Repeat Sales)
- Offering free assess & download of study material to increase repeated visit on our website and there by seeing related products displayed on that page.
- Uploading of college event/party photos to increase traffic on website. (Window shopping)
- Using name@vismodeep.com emails to be on top of the mind among friends.
- Uploading information about job openings on website which tend people to visit.
- Friends and faculties giving example of Vismodeep in class rooms have played as a viral marketing for us. (Viral Marketing)
- Sending thanks message for purchasing a product after T+2 days to make them resemble that we care for our customers and they add value to us and asking them to visit our website again. This helps in making a strong customer relationship management (CRM) and also helps in making repeat sales. (Relationship Selling)
