I am not a CEO and I do not know how much work do they actually do.
But I know they are paid huge amount of money. Many of them have monthly salary equal to my yearly salary.
I would love to get an answer from CEO.. Though others who have their opinions please share them here.
Thanks
I respectfully disagree with the statement that CEOs are paid outrageous salaries. This is basically an argument put forward by the communist, socialists and lazy people. Each CEO is a brand and a brand is always costly. Also, you cannot build a brand 'easily'. Second - most CEOs loose their job the moment the management finds that the profit is going down or need some way out to save the name of the company. There are many more reasons like these. Consider this from another angle. What if you own a small shop which suddenly starts minting money. Can people tell the owner that he/she cannot have that kind of outrageous profits? ...considering all these, I do not support the view that CEOs are paid outrageously.
I totally agree with Mr. Ramchand, They type of effect’s which CEO putts, and works, is difficult to make understand, for a employee/ person from junior to Senior middle level position, CEO is brand and brand is company if brands makes profit company makes profit, brand looses value CEO loose Job. This will help you understand better about job profile of CEO, & we know what CEO has to do to save his job and build Brand equity in market. Best example plz watch the ads of Pepsi coke, Tide surf, and 7up spirit, for a common person it is an advertisement for a CEO/COO/ it is challenge to proof that he is best (he=Brand), plz buy me.
well if we put ourselves in their shoes then only we can realize and understand how easy is that be.... to get that BIG PACKAGE!! things looks different from a distance!! & I feel better to concentrate on our profile rather than keeping a eye on others transactions!! will be good for us! thanks for the referral..
Jyoti,if I want to run my business volume of billion dollars i will have no option but to hire a person or call CEO on a package commensurate to the earning of revenue. The person must have attitude, application, knowledge, experience, and sagacity. The CEO deserves 2% salary of the profit . I would not call it "OUTRAGEOUS" but "GRACIOUS'
When you compare the market share of the companies these CEOs are heading globally, their compensation is miniscule. Business relies on their strategy, acumen and instinct in taking risks at a time the whole world is reeling under recession pressure. A few thinkers on top captain the ship to sail in troubled water flawlessly, so that the families of the employees take peaceful sojourn!
I believe fully well.
You will greatly astonish to know that the salary of a CEO of a highly reputed company may be equal to several years of your salary and may that even be nuch more to cover salary of your entire service also.
As a CEO of PepsiCo in 2008, Indra Nooyi earned a total compensation of $14917701 (Rs.65,63,78,000 approximately), which included a base salary of $1300000, a cash bonus of $2600000. Her compensation may now be at much higher range in 2011.
Similarly, salary of Vikram pandit, CEO Citigroup, in 2009 was $1.75 million (equivalent to Rs.77,00,00,000 approximately). He may also perhaps be getting much more now.
Anshu Jain, investment banking chief of Deutsche Bank, earned 12.00 million euros ($16.73 million) in 2010 that equals to about Rs.73,61,20,000. He has now been nominated as a Co-CEO of the bank to be appointed in 2012 and would definitely draw much higher salary.
Just imagine, if your salary for the entire service would touch these figures at any time?
what is the meaning of being a boss, when you can't get the value that profile and designation deserves,
see it is very wrong to say outrageous salary, when it does not cost even single penny from our pocket, are you paying your boss salary,
We all aim and desire to reach that positions and achieve success, what if there is no such value and success attached to that position,
will you still set you career goals based on those positions?

A set of etiquette is important for any person working in the corporate world. Many things may annoy others and many things can stop your promotion, block that appraisal. What should be kept in mind at work place? |
Do you believe the CEOs are paid outrageous salaries? |
Loyalty is better in long term. Though it depends that for whom are you working. Jumping jobs is not a solution for anything. |
