No I don't think it has dumbed it down but I do think it has changed it fundamentally. There is an advancement in technology, the devices earlier used have been changed. After all Photoshop e.g still requires the photographer to have an eye - to seek a pleasing or useful composition and present it in a dramatic emotional way. But these tools allow you to do it faster, and more often and in exciting ways impossible with analogue photography.
