i believe in karma

u can donate anything physicaly, mentaly.or economically according to ur capabilities. donating temples is not bad but yes donating current situations is more required.

can i ask , have u donated for such things,i mean any type of donation?

i work as volunteer, need people who can donate for poor and needy childrens, if u can help in any way plz contact me.

Donations are tax exempted too

People indulge in charity for different reasons; in India god and religion seem to hold more of emotional appeal than other factors. There could also be a monetry reason, donations made to certain funda are eligible to tax exemptions under section 80G.

@Sheetal Rawat  This is a professional forum, so please make the effort to write properly. Writing bcj instead of 'because' is unprofesional and unacceptable in a professional forum. How do you expect others to take you seriously if your profile and your wrtiings reflect a non serious and casual attitude.

bcj..people are selfish...they interested in giving bribes to GOD..bcj in return they want many thing for them..apart from this indian people r very hippocrates and mean they just want to picture themselvel good ..always..people are ANDHVISHWASI...jst want to put there names on the walls,fans n all small things in temple as well as their small soceity or groups..other wise if they can give lacs and crores of rupees to make a temple or a crown or jwellery for god..than they can give that money to make a roof for some poor people..they can remove beggers from street..they can give some shelter to homeless people,old age people n handicaped..they can give some education to street children..they can adopt a child from orphanage....but they dont ..bcj as i said before ..that people who gave lots of money to tempel...they r just selfish.

I do not believe in GODS. So sometimes this type of activity also upset me. I believe people who donates to temple/church so much they want their advertisements (news) in paper. They do it for show off. But in Tsunami,earthquake everybody donates so that time if that person donate a big amount then he thinks that he won't get so much publicity as he gets by donating to the temple. It is only a show off business.

People never thinks to feed poor children with that money but they will make a gold crown and gift it to temple showing an useless reason(I am successful bcz of GOD only,as if God has come to earth to save him).
They make a gold crown,then do not even give cash also. That makes me very angry.

Ya shaju sir i agree with u, every one have their own purpose and expectation for doing any thing. 2days date no one do social work without any expectation.

I always believe in Donating for MANKIND / CAUSE...!!!

Genuine and Fruitful Donations could be in any of the following forms..

1. Sponsoring Food and Education of an Orphan Child (Ref: www.udavumkarangal.org)

2. Sponsoring a Physically Challenged

3. Sponsoring the last happy days of an Elderly and Isolated Oldman/women (Ref. www.helpageindia.org)

4. Donating for a National Disaster / Calamity (Earthquake / Tsunami / Floods /  Draught)

5. Charity Homes / Oldage Homes .. and so on

Just think of surprising your loved ones  during their Birthday... 

I had donated a daily meal of all inhabitants at a Charity Home during the last Birthday of my mom..They inturn surprised my mom, by wishing her over phone and conveyed the blessings of all the inhabitants to her on her Birthday..

Kindly note that the sense of satisfaction and feel you get after such acts is immense and uncomparable to any other deeds..

There are various organization and dedicated charity / social workers who physically spend time for services to mankind..

Even though we are not able to physically help atleast we can be a Monitary aid rather than being a silent spectator..

Choice : Donating for a Temple or. Donating for Mankind?

Measure your sense of satisfaction in each of the above cases and decide on what your heart says...!!!

GOD is definitely above ALL.. But our act of donating for a MANKIND / CAUSE puts us above GOD....

It is a matter of belief, point of view. I think that a temple with golden walls ridicules the sense of the donors in a country like India. But those who donate for it do not feel like that....what can be done!!

Hey! I have been thinking about your question. Most of us donate out of fear and we fear the unknown more than we fear the known. People who do not know His might, donate in temples. People who do, donate it to the needy. Further, religion sometimes make donation look like a sacrifice which will give happiness in return.

To me, donation is just help, which God don't ask for. Sacrifice is what He puts in front of us to seek happiness. To help is more of your duty. You help so that someone will help you the same someday. Donation can be this help, it has nothing to do with sacrifice.
