Has patriotism been diluted in the films being made nowadays? Bollywood filmmakers admit high-voltage patriotic movies like "Purab Aur Paschim" are no longer being made, but insist they haven't stopped visiting the theme even though the numbers have come down.

Promoting Patriotism is very good in Media n Films, I would like to give example like Rang De Basanti / Swades..etc These movies are sending very good messages...
I don't think so, still movies based on terrorism, patriotism, historical effect containing wars and battles, corruption etc. becomes great hit among the Indian population. This shows people still like to see pure patriotic movies.
The theme for patriotism potrayed in recent films is more different than earlier times or olden days. But the genre for Patriotic films is still well received by the masses.
In fact films like "sarfarosh" or " Rang De Basanti" is the case point. These are the very finest films made on on-going patriotism. That even after waging a half a century long war against the british raj. We are still fighting new enemies of Indian democracy. That the love and defence for the country like India is a never ending process in itself.
"NO" patriotism has not diluted but the challenges for the democracy has changed, hence even the style of patriotism has changed.

Films and media is promoting patriotism quite well. WE can see many films based on patriotism. Like....lagaan, chak de India, Munna Bhai (promoting ideas of Gandhi ji), and many more movies throuth which burnong topica had been raised by our film makers and TV shows. Like: - Balika Vadhu.
Our people from film industry are also taking active partition to promote our country.
So, we can say films are promoting patriotism and films are also being made on this.

Film and media should not misjudge and should not think they are having the patent of Patriotism.
Indians are patriotic enough and when time comes--I am sure the media and Films will learn patriotism from general mass.
Media and films are inspired by real life patriotism--real patriotism is not dependent on Indian media.
Patriotism is alive only in media as well as films...films inspire every one to become patriotic ...! So, give a big hand to films n media.
