I want to start an accounting work. i want some tips to process it.
Prepare a brochure either a hardcopy or a soft copy.
target your customers: like starting with a question " are you a company having a monthly turnover of 10Lakhs ? or 2.cant afford an accountant but wanna prepare a balance sheet ? or 3.wanna accountant care but cant commit salary ? hire us. etc etc.
list your facilities
add the testimonials.
tell your background in few lines.
drop the letter in every door.
use business directories to build a data base.
enter into just dial directory if possible.
get references from known sources.
send a news letter about latest commercial tax developments and accountancy issues and post to all.
hire a slot in a local cable tv and answer accountancy questions.

first of all you need to decide that which field you want to enter in accounting like sales tax income tax or excise or whatever then you need to plan that you want collaboration with some big company or want to start on your own. if you wanna start ur own business then approach for the tie ups with colleges , firms and provide consultancy to various firms. do what u r best at. I don't know your qualification otherwise could have guided you better. but still whatever i told goes with all the fields.
Well you have to decide exactly what type of work you prefer. In accounts line we have accounts writing,Tax handling,ESI,Providend Fund,VAT and central excise. If you to cover all these you need to mention them in your brochure. As regards mere accounts work today by the grace of comouter packages I do not think much scope is there. However if you can equip yourselves with the work of MIS I feel you will have better scope to earn a decent income.
