India is beautiful country....if we want to attract tourist....we need to do only one thing that is"protect our Culture". For Example..An American visits India to see our culture and traditions....!In America,in his culture he have pubs and all..so he is not coming to India to see Indian pubs...! I agree with Mr. Ratin Deb & Mr.Ravindra Sharma for given suggestions for boasting tourism industry such as Hotels, Travel Agents. Government & private agencies have a great role to play here.... to build environment congenial to tourism.

 The most important factor discouraging tourism in India is lack of infrastructure. For e.g. a place like Shimla in H.P can be traveled by means of Car in 4 hours from the nearest destination barely 125 k.m. how do we  expect a tourist to spend most of his time in reaching the destination and that to with no comfort but lot of difficulties on his way.

Before getting to the job of developing the tourist destination the infrastructure like Helipads, Airport, Ropeways, express highways, monorails, metros, across the tourist destinations can only pave the way forward & that's a huge exercise.

Only a revolutionary leader can bring about such ambitious plans.

First of all the sense of security among tourists shoud prevail. As of now since travel advisory has been issued by many countries saying not to visit India is hampering Forign Tourist arrival.

All the Embassies of India should promote tourist visiting India through Ministry of Tourism of all the countries.

The Commonwealth Games will be an added attraction and should be promoted. In addition all the purchases made by tourists vat should be returned including hotel stay. This amount should be paid in the airports of final depertures.

By providing safe tourism - most of the other country people, specially europeans and americans, whose are more perspective tourist, still hesitate to visit India as compared to Malayasia, Thailand, just because of threat from terrorist and naxalist group.

Govt has to ensure safe and comfortable environment for tourism.

First we need to create that infrastructure, and also we need to create a corridor in a calendar year saying as a something like, the Great Indian festival which will be happening all across the country, and with such diversity in India, we can easily pull of something really big here, and even tourists both international and domestic will be happy with such a festival where they can take home something really special, and then the most important thing is security, there should be nil interms of terrorist activity and once India comes clean with terrorism issues people will automatically trickle in huge numbers.......
