In the absence of a field laboratory, one can test observing & feeling. The coloure must be uniform (usually greenish grey),it feels cool to hand. When o cement is hand thrown to water in a trumbler, the particles should spread uniformly & before drowning it should float for some time. These tests are empirical in nature & does not guarentee the quality of cement. In order to assese the quality laboratory test is always recommended.
