Can Travel agents serve as an important source of business referrals for hotel properties. How can we maximize this source?
How can we convert this into a potential source of business referrals?
Is this a good source to promote a hotel? What can be the drawbacks of this method?
I think all the best point have been mentioned but still to add I would say some brochures can be kept with every travel agency. Instead of focus on only few loyal travel agents we broader approach should also be used,
It is crucial that both the hotels and travel agents have to appreciate the need of working in tandem. Self regulgulatory bodies of both should be proactive in seeking the smooth cordination of this partnership. Together we stand to gain tremendously. Similiarly we also have apotential to make life difficult for each other if cannot work in sync.
Nowadays, travel agencies provide facilities for online booking. Their sites can to used to advertise for Hotels as online marketing is one of the upcoming means for marketing.
The three most important things to a travel agent are:
1. Ease of making reservations with confidence.
2. Client (guest) satisfaction.
3. Prompt and accurate commission payment
And if these are satisfied at a particular place they will definitely promote that place..So any hotel should take care of these factors while considering a travel agenct and he will do the rest.
Travel Agents are a very good source of promotion. If we can make loyal to us it will be of great help. We should never dishonour a registration brought in by the travel agency. If the travel agency is a regular visitor of the hotel they can bring in good business. But care needs to taken to be sure that the travel agent has a reputable position. He is bringing in the right customers.
