If it is fair competition, Indian manufacturers will give tough fight to chinese. But in China, land is almost free, power is very cheap, lot of subsidies for exports, etc. Also Chinese currency is artificially low. If level playing field is provided to Indian manufacturers, then we too can match them, if not beat them

There is already certain restrictions placed like anti dumping duty etc to curb import of cheap goods into the country. But the edge the Chinese goods have is the cheapness even after paying all import duties these Chinese goods are cheaper than what is available in the Indian goods. Secondly the Chinese goods are better in finish and quality. So if we have  to bring down such imports, we have to reduce the production cost by adopting better and correct  technology. Our tax structure plays a very important role in the cost of the product,  the tax structure needs to be retionalised.

Our manufacturers are killed by govt. policies. As far as products are concerned we know that that India has a cheap labour force from international markets and we can compete with China or any other nation. But the main problem is a defective policy of govt. and its unjustified behavior with un-organised sector.

chinese goods r comparatively cheaper due 2 cheap availability of human resource, even children and prisoners r being used by industries at cheaper rates. workers r forced 2 work 12hours all seven days. second thing chinese goods r of inferior quality.there is no place for human rights in china. so in our work culture we cannot produce same goods cheaper than chinese but we can compete by producing superior quality products. This strategy would be effective both in domestic and international markets.

Chinese products are cheaper because of Low capital Investment required and the Policy of the Government. They are exporting their skilled labour by way of utilizing the manpower at home country to add value to the raw material. For example we export rough Granite blocks to china and they use their cheap plant and machinery and manpower convert these in to finished products and sell it back to us. We export every thing as raw and that include our manpower we export manpower and our people work as slaves in other countries. Examine why our land is costly? For example we paid Rs 5-30 Lakhs as compensation to the farmers when acquired our land for industrial / residential purpose but to the undustry it costs Rs/ 100 lakhs+ per acre where the 70-95 lakh goes? It goes to people who do not any way contribute to the development that is Politicians, Officiqals and midlemen who help in land deals. We barrow money from WOrld bank at 2% Government adds another 3-4% and Manor finacial institution charges another 2-4% and the final landing banks another 4% and the industry has to pay 14%+ too many middlemen in our system. THis kind of mafia and Policy should go. Only then we will be able to compete in the global and domestic market.

There is also a tool in the hands of the government to avoid unhealthy competion from imported goods. That is anti dumping duty. The situation to day is government on its own do not leavy antidumaping duty to protect domeastic industry. DOmeastic Industry has to lobby, and may be pay bribe only then anti dumping duty is levied. It is the failure of the government in prdicting such onslughts from foreign goods and the vested interests who want to import and pay bribe to prevent government levying anti dumping duty sumoto. Politicians who try to use all actions and non actions of the government for political gains leathagy of people in understanding and supporting government when good work is done are responsible for the present situation.

Yes the cheap Chinese Products are killing our domestic manufacturing as evident from the latest figures wherein our manufacturing is down by 25% YoY , the credit lies with the Chinese thinktank for export centric policies and tarriff barrier they have set in to deter import form other countries to export to China besides numerous incentives designed for their local manufacturers.

The Indian government also introduced many export centric schemes and incentives , however we failed to capitalize on that while the Chinese have taken a full advantage of their policies.

In India if the product is good then people will buy it even if it cost more.So the product and quality should be good.In India we do not have our own telecom equipments. We are using equipments of Huwaei, zte, ericsson..

If Indian companies produce good products ,then that will be the end of chinese products....
